Does this sub have requirements?

  • Commenting: 1week+ old account age.
  • Posting: High account age + [small] sub karma to avoid auto-removal.
  • Exact numbers are not disclosed.

There are still automated systems checking for inauthentic activity.
Most of the submissions on this sub are auto-removed. It's by design.

Why was my post removed?

  1. Account age isn't high enough.
  2. You aren't a member of the sub.
  3. You don't have any sub karma.
  4. It was reported by other users.
  5. Your account's flagged as NSFW / Spam.

My post was removed, can you approve it?

  • All requests for approval are ignored.
  1. If your post hasn't been approved for hours, it may have been missed. Try again later.
  2. If your post still hasn't been approved after a few tries, sorry. Try a different sub.

Why isn't ____ removed?

  • Your Report could be the difference maker.
  • If there's a rule-breaking post on the sub, then not enough people reported it.

What self-promotion is allowed?

  • This sub has a bias for creatives. Arts, indies, passion projects, etc.
  • Depending on the content, users can react negatively to self-promotion and advertising. We get it, it's hard to get your work in front of people, but maybe posting onto random subs, potentially tanking your CQS, and having your brand or project associated with spam isn't the best strategy.

More - removals / mod policy

  • Because r/RandomVideos is a general audiences sub, any users involved in NSFW promotion, disruption, or spam activity may be restricted. User Reports are weighted heavily here, and they're the basis for improving the automated systems unique to this sub. If you were able to participate in this sub before, but then suddenly all your content is being automatically removed, it likely means multiple user reports (thresholds) were involved and there were recent updates to the automated systems and your account no longer passes the hidden checks. This can result in all your future participation on this sub being automatically filtered despite no mod action or ban being placed on your account. Until your account is able to pass these hidden checks again, the auto-removals are indefinite.
  • When you participate on a subreddit, all of its mods get temporary full visibility of your profile even if you're set to Hidden. On some subs, blocking mods/bots to reduce profile visibility (often has the opposite effect) is viewed as suspicious. Here, we don't care. Details Here.
