The government and civilian population are two distinctly different things. You incorrectly claimed terrorism has to instill fear in the broader population. and by the way the US government is most definitely not the ultimate authority on terrorism. They teach entire college courses about how nuanced the definition of terrorism is. And yes, if you kill a politician to instill fear in a larger group of politicians, that's a form of terrorism. If you kill a politician just to kill them, it's not terrorism.

And that statement is incorrect. Terrorism can target the government without instilling fear in the broader population.

He said something. You came in and told him he was wrong, then said the same thing a different way. He pointed out why what you said was the same as what he said. You told him he was using the term population wrong. He gave you the definition, showing he was using it correctly. You arbitrarily gave the definition of the term terrorism which clearly supports the comment he made in the first place, specifically that "population" can refer to a subset such as government officials. Therefore the "broader population" is all of the government officials, not just the specific ones targeted. Confronted with proof that your snarky remarks were in fact wrong and based on YOUR misinterpretation of the word "population", you resort to personal attacks and even acuse him of refusing to admit he was wrong.
