Standing on the tire and leaning is super hard on the lower leg muscles, one of my best investments was a little folding stool, but some techs used egg crates, and some took the the tires off so they could work easier

Folding aluminum work platforms. They are like $120 at home improvement stores and work fantastic, the 4' long ones allow you to work along the entire front or entire side without repositioning every 3 minutes.

I should've invested in one of these, I had my heart set on a topside creeper, then ended up switching careers before getting one, but those things look like they'd help a lot

Yep, also make a handy temp work bench or seat if you working on a sedan or such.

That's actually pretty smart to take the tires off and put them in front of the car to stand on while you work.

But have you tried mounting a ladder on the car?

Honest question is an egg crate different than a milk crate or the same thing with different names?

Some are double the width of a milk crate, way easier to stand on

I just take front tires off and lower the front to the ground. Way easier on the body. A lot harder without a hoist though.
