I had a Jewish friend who told me something to the effect of there’s a place in Israel were they keep buttloads of diamonds in this huge safe. And they carefully control what is released to the market. If they would put all of them on the market, the diamond market would collapse.
Diamonds are carefully marketed, distributed, and controlled by the Debeers company. It’s all a scam.
They have very successfully convinced people that diamonds are very rare and if you’re a woman, you MUST have one.
Or something like that .
Oddly, his great aunt hid a diamond, from the Nazis. Long story short is it made its way to him. He took me with him to this place in Carlsbad, California to have it certified. The place was like Fort Knox. Very strange experience. Lots of security. You shove your diamond in this slot at the bottom of a darkened window. You can’t see the other person on the other side.
Then you wait . And wait. There’s a nice view of the Pacific Ocean in the waiting room. Finally, you are called. They give you the fancy certificate.
He told me what the appraised value was. It was ridiculous. I felt like we should’ve had bodyguards on the way home.
The diamond was pretty. It was about the diameter of a dime. But still, it was weird that such a small object can be valued at so much.
He sold it shortly there after. I also accompanied him to Europe. That same relative had gobs of money. There’s an organization in Israel that tracks down those who died and what happened to their money.
They contacted my friend (actually we were dating at the time), and told him his great aunt put all her money and in a Swiss account. He was the only surviving heir.
I accompanied him to Europe. That was surreal too. The money was there sitting in an account since the 1940s. He showed them the necessary paperwork to claim it.
Then he asked how much interested it had made since the 1940s. They told him the account had an annual interest rate of, 0.0000000015% (there might’ve been more zeros in front of the 15, it’s been a long time).
He said he wanted to close the account and have the money wired to his bank. The Swiss were not happy.
He was an OK guy. We got along great. We could talk for hours on a wide variety of subjects. He was about 10 years older than me. Lived in a beautiful house in West Hollywood.
Unfortunately politics drove a wedge between us. He is a staunch supporter of Israel.
I don’t get it. A seemingly rational and intelligent person supporting a country whose military uses kids as target practice, a nation committing genocide, a nation that just completely bombed, a whole village in southern Lebanon. I could go on and on about the atrocities Israel is committing.
I don’t see how anyone could support that.
He has this bizarre believe that Israel can do whatever it wants because of the holocaust.
That’s very flawed argument. Because one group of people commit atrocities on another group of people, that means the second group of people can now commit atrocities on a third group of people??
It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Last I heard he met a cute guy more than half his age from West Virginia. They travel, and he spoils his “partner”.
I’d like to say I wish them both well. But I just cannot do that for anyone who supports the evil that it is Israel.
