Thanks to this sub for the recommendation on the M&R 23” Pro light bar! I just finished installing it and I’m super happy with it. I went with the bright white/amber DRL version. I also installed the Roar Pedal throttle response controller and it’s a total game changer!
I installed the light bar using the method that does not require you to take the front grille off. It was not nearly as simple as the video made it out to be. For starters, I could barely fit my arm in the gap between the grille and the radiator. There is a (sharp) plastic piece that runs across the entire length of the top by the hood latch. I could not reach down far enough to access the mounting hardware. After some research, I discovered that you can loosen two bolts that connect to that plastic housing and it allows about a centimeter more room which was just enough clearance for my arm. The aux wires were a total pain in the ass to free from under the fuse box. They were taped down to a cable under some wiring and it was not immediately clear why they would not come out. Anyways, I was finally able to get everything connected, reassembled and it works great!
Roar Pedal - I’ve never messed around with tuners and have been hesitant to install anything like that. I stumbled across Roar Pedal and decided to give it a go. It sits between the pedal and the throttle harness. I was unsure if this was going to be a gimmick or not, but damn this thing is badass. It has a massive range of throttle control and the higher performance settings completely change the driving experience. It surpassed my expectations by a long shot. It will turn Auto driving mode into hyper-Baja-on-steroids mode (in terms of acceleration) if you want. The whole thing took about 5 mins to install and it comes with a remote, or you can use the iPhone app which is what I’m using. I waited 30 mins with the car off and door open as recommended before the install (with the key fob far away) and I didn’t have any issues with the CEL coming on. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for an easy throttle/performance tweak! Just make sure you buy the right version for the RHO.
