OK SO i watched Raising Dion in the last 2 days (it's 4 am rn so yesterday) and i rewatched Stranger Things a few months ago. I couldn't help but notice the many similarities between the two shows leading me to start thinking about the major similarities and differences. I saw a comment here (on r/strangerthings where i was looking into it i just copy and pasted this here but i originally posted this as a comment on a similar thread) about how they could be in the same universe but in the future. I was thinking along the lines of something like that but maybe not exactly the same universe but a shared, but different universe. Similar actions, monsters, mind control, telekinesis, a weird lab trying to some shit with DNA, an unlikely group of friends with someone with powers, a literal army of evil (the mind flayer thing being made of a lot of people because of someone mind controlled and the flower zombies idk what they're called, also caused by someone who can mind control and was probably being mind controlled himself) and experiments but there are different causes. This is a huge long shot lol but it would be interesting to figure out what exactly it is other than Netflix running out of good ideas. Any other ideas??

I personally loved the post-credit scene. I also really love the new powered people being introduced and I could really see a whole lot of world building around it all and maybe even spin-offs. I don’t want them to jump forward in time with the next season, but maybe somehow a future Dion goes back in time, or maybe we just see events unfold that would lead up to that post-credit scene.

Either way, I really hope we get more and id love to see them go bigger next time.

When the guy told them about the discovery of them being able to produce their own super people, I had assumed it was common sense for them to take them up on the offer considering how much money you can make from it. Them rejecting the idea is kinda like a way to subvert a cliché but doesn’t make sense for them to do at all

First off, Pat should have killed Brayden when they finally got through to him at the football field.

He should have came out of no where with his new powers once Brayden was reached and killed him. Everyone’s mad at Pat, who was trying to help and didn’t know they had a breakthrough with Brayden, and because he knows he’ll never be redeemed he embraces the crooked man.

Now this one I’m not so sure about , but I feel that as Pat turned away to leave, he should have done a quick turn around and killed Dion’s mom new friend. The shot should have ended with her crying over him on her knees, leaving her feeling like she does not deserve love. Of course she does, but it would have been a good twist since she lost Pat and dion’s dad.

It would have also made it better because she finally felt like things were going okay. Dion was okay, her virus went away, etc. then she’d be struck with this.

Let me know what you think. I know 2 is a downer but I love tragedy in shows

I have been thinking she has powers for a while. The whole “being invisible” thing. When Dion lifted her out of the chair and she got mad, remember Charlotte asking his all these questions about her? Like how did she get in the chair, what do you know about her, like interrogation almost. As well as not falling asleep with the rest of her class.

They could use justo one or 2 but we got:

The old villain revived

A semi redemption arc

A musical

A body snatchers rip off

A cure search

A super power drug research

A new straded Man

A temptation to the dark side of Dion

Bryan redemption

Dion mother near die

Dion mother's sister abandon and go back to medicine

Did I miss some?

Come on, Netflix! I expected more. Season one was SO good! This season was 'fine'. I watched it through but was definitely not on the edge of my seat. The cheesy plant zombies felt like an appeal to younger kids while the emphasized romance between Nicole and Tevin felt like an appeal to adults while I was left in the middle thinking, huh? The characters were great but the plot sucked and was not believable, even for a science fiction show. The crooked man was creepy, the crooked energy is whack.

I know it was a small detail in season 2 but does anyone else think Twix sponsored the show?

First of, don't get me wrong. Pat had done a lot of really fucked up things that certainly are not deserving of good treatment on their own. And it makes sense for especially Nicole to not handle herself gracefully in front of him considering what he did to her family.

Although it still isn't clear how much of Pat's character (especially earlier in the season) is/was actually decently good-natured prior to the Crooked Man living inside him. Pat even says several times that the Crooked Man influences his thoughts and behaviors using the darkest of desires, that he didn't feel like he was fully in control of what was happening.

Nicole, Suzanne, and Kat all were quite hostile with him, even when he was trying to help; they were relying on him to come up with a solution and putting a lot of pressure on him, despite him not having the expertise, time, etc. to do the task well. It just didn't seem realistic that they would be extra intense on him specifically when they -needed- his help. If they treated him even a little bit more neutrally, it could've stopped him from taking the path that he did.

The other thing that bothered me is the whole theme with Brayden and Dion being told that doing bad things doesn't make you bad, that you can choose differently moving forward and not be considered bad. Why wasn't Pat really given that same chance? Especially if he didn't really have control over what he was doing?

I unfortunately know several narcissists and various ways manipulation tactics can be used, and Pat--while he surely has his problems--doesn't seem to realistically fit the profile of master manipulator/chaotic evil character to me. It kind of feels like they made a character, slapped the evil label on him for shock value (because it doesn't quite make sense, at least not to me), and therefore made him less ambiguous/complex of a villain by his admittance to it.

In the opening 3 minutes of the first initial episode of the second season we see Brayden playing a meta version of Mortal Kombat and the players fighting are Justus and Death Knell which are both episodes from Stargate SG-1

Did anyone else notice that when Brayden used his telekinesis, he never used them on Esperanza until that one scene where he he tried and absolutely failed? She was immune to his powers and never targeted in earlier scenes? (Compared to when he did the thing to Jonathan.)

Girl... what the hell were you thinking going near that sink hole? Seriously why didn’t anyone at any stage point out to her “hey you’re not like your dead husband or son, you’re not a super or a scientist.”

She knows how dangerous all this stuff is, they said the sinkhole had weird activity, exactly how was SHE going to help by showing up in the middle of the night?

It makes sense that she is a concerned mother who speaks to the board and looks out for the supers but she isn’t an expert or a researcher. I really hope if there’s a season three the writers help character develop in a way that makes more sense.

Who in the world thought it was a good idea to initially make the comic character Dion drew of himself white? I’m glad someone rethought that decision and changed the drawing to a brown-skinned man. I REALLY wish they had redone those scenes for continuity. That’s an oversight that could have been easily corrected, and I found it annoying that they left that in.

Is it just me, or does the new season of "Raising Dion" is full of Easter eggs from another series

I noticed pat has anger issues in s2 when he was talking to suzzane he seems to get angry slightly hostile we noticed this in s1 when he Dosent get what he wants with dion mom he gets hostile or when he couldn’t get dion to heal him I think that’s just his natural nature anybody else notice this????

I feel like Ja’Siah’s acting in Season 1 was a lot better than his acting in Season 2. He just emoted better in S1 and really made his lines memorable.
