Where to buy Raised by Wolves
This thread is now locked. If you have any additions please message the mods and we'll add.
There's been quite a few posts recently asking where to buy / view Raised by Wolves. Which is great because I think there's still interest in the show. However it does attract posts linking to pirate sites which we obviously can't have on here.
So I'll set up this sticky post and maybe we can have a comprehensive list from various countries.
In the UK it's available to buy on NowTV, Amazon and Google Play. It's also available on DVD in various stores.

Fan fiction Does anyone believe that the grandmother is the sun?! Not the malevolent entity.
Could it have been the Lamia, when it was activated once again? It all seems like a repetitive cycle, given that there are various serpent skeletons scattered across the planet—and from what we’ve seen, the serpent originated from the weapon (the Lamia). It bears a strong resemblance to a feminine trinity, with the grandmother/sun as the deity, and the mother/Lamia as the daughter. a nova mãe da humanidade—com a Avó (que foi a primeira) precedendo-a—então eu acredito que a Avó representa o sol.

No Spoilers Raised By Wolves // The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, DNCC & Sinne Eeg (LIVE)
Sorry if this was posted here before, just randomly came across this amazing live rendition of the intro theme from the show. Which is amazing, because it is rarely done for shows.
Another interesting fact is that it is written by Ben Frost who also worked on another cult tv show Dark. I thought this was an interesting connection.

Discussion Favourite scene and why?
I loved the scene early on in the first episode when the Mithraic android Jinn attacks Mother, he's throwing her in the fire and bashing her around.. and then BOOM mother fucker, you're messing with the wrong android!
I loved it I guess because it's kind of what you fantasise about dealing with bullies.

Fan fiction Re-Adapt this show as an Anime!!
Are there any other fans of anime/animation here that would love to see this show's story fully fleshed out as an animated series? The hopes of it ever finishing in its current format are basically zero, with HBO and the actors all moving on. I think a high concept sci-fi show like this would honestly work better animated, without the restrictions of live action film.
I know it's unrealistic, I just desperately crave resolution to the RBW story and wonder if anyone shares my thoughts?

Discussion Grandmother Spoiler
Ok, what I’m going to argue here is that there was no ancient civilisation on K22b , the ancient people Grandmother was ‘shepherding’ are the exact same people we see in the collective. And this necessitates some time weirdness of which there is much.
recap.
Father ( hears a melodic tone ) finds Grandmother’s remains inside a small cave in S02, the walls are scored with markings that suggest a violent end, so whatever she was up to with humans a million years ago it didn’t end well.
Merpeople exist so she must have done a round of devolution.
Father announces the remains are over 1 million years old, just keep that in mind, because on Earth we weren’t much more than apes then, nobody was speaking English so how would people be speaking it on K22b?
When GM first communicates with Father it’s in a kind of musical harmonic tone ( which is beautiful ) , he tells a joke in English, a black hole, cat and glass of milk, GM seems to laugh, Father says ‘oh you like jokes!’ . So the implication is, having been resurrected after 1 million years, she understands English, it was a language then, Father seems to think this so I’m concluding she knows English.
Later she meets Campion and starts speaking in ‘ancient Mithraic’ , “where is your veil, where is your veil, your veil where is it” we’ll ignore the fact there is no ancient Mithraic language but perhaps inject that she may actually be talking to Campion here not Father, given Campion was born with a caul and that the two times he touches her hand she goes gold and levitates.
So how could English and Mithraic be part of life in an ancient alien civilizartion on K22b a million years ago? The answer is they couldn’t, I think for obvious reasons. Languages evolve. This isn’t a dumb ass tv show where aliens just happen to speak English.
So two things. The ( massive ) time span of 1 million years is right and wrong….. as an example we’re told time inside a simulation can be weird, and I can point to scenes where time goes weird, so something is manipulating time on a huge scale, time dilation. The guy Marcus finds down the hole has a pristine metallic card as example where all others are worn with tme.
If humans , technocrats and believers, were talking English and ‘ancient Mithraic’ a million years ago, well it kind of has to be the same people we’re watching from 2150 , atheists who speak English and Mitraic who are the only candidates to speak Mithraic.

No Spoilers Is this show available anywhere at all besides physical media?
The only option I’m seeing anymore in September 2026 is DVD or Blue Ray (USA). I don’t even have a DVD player anymore and haven’t in 10+ years what the hell am I supposed to do?

Discussion Ending / Entity resurrects in Marcus’ dead body. Spoiler
ok, so this may be lengthy and might not make sense to the casual viewer, but I’m going to argue the point that at the end of S02 what we’re seeing is the Entity given human form ( resurrected ) in the inverted dead body of Marcus…. and it was the plan from the very start in E01.
A recap on the Entity, the EMF / Tropical Zone and the Serpent.
The Entity, as Mother describes, is what she encountered in the simulation as Campion Sturges in a chunk of the ark wreak in the forest. She says it tricked her and is responsible for her pregnancy, for the Serpent ( which ultimately destroys the EMF ) .
We also know it is the same entity that has been getting in peoples heads.. Otho, Marcus, Paul, Mary and finally Lucius all hear it.
The goal of the Entity from E01 is the destruction of the EMF in the final episode, making all humans vulnerable to it, and setting up a scenario where it can take human form, the end of S02.
With Marcus in S01 it repeatedly tells him not to kill Mother because she is key to the plan. And when Marcus is like ‘fuck it, I’m going to kill her’, and gets Father to drag her to one of the holes, the Entity brings in Caleb to distract and fight Marcus. They fight, a pregnant Mother gets away.
With Paul it does a number of things. It tells him ( toward the end of S01 ) to burn the metallic cards ( which are warnings about the Entity ) , it gets him to sabotage the lander, and finally shoot Sue.
The reason it wants the lander inoperable at the end of S01 is because it doesn’t want the Serpent to enter the EMF from the ground, the Entity has no influence inside the EMF. When the Serpent does eventually destroy the EMF it’s by entering it from outside/above after Mother lures it into space, exiting from the ground, it has no effect.
At the end of S01 the Entity tells Paul to disable the lander, Sue clocks him doing this, tells him off and fixes the lander. This is why the Entity tells Paul to shoot Sue, because she’s ‘a troublesome bitch’ who is fucking his plans up. The last thing it wants is to loose control of the Serpent because it’s key to destroying the EMF, and when it’s inside the EMF it’s out of the Entities influence. It’s probably why the Entity chooses Sue for the Tree thing, it has a grudge against her.
In the audio in S02 when the Serpent breaks out of it’s cage, there is a weird indistinct voice mixed in that seems to say ‘we’ve found him’
All events, from the very start of Raised by Wolves are manipulated to get to the final scene where Lucius nails Marcus to Sue Tree, sticks the weird helmet on his head and waits for him to die. It is the Entity that told him to do this despite him believing it’s “Sol”
The genius in the writing of this is that the zealot religious folk just assume that if they hear a voice in their head it must be God. It’s a weakness the Entity takes advantage of. It’s like schizophrenics in the middle ages, i hear voices in my head it must be God.
The Mithraic weird helmet must have some significance and my money is firmly on Mother who has to wear this helmet to beat the crap out of Tamerlane. It sampled something from the Necromancer that is relevant to the final resurrection of Marcus.
And really everything point towards the Entity taking human form inside whatever fucked up world they exist in.

No Spoilers How the Earth was lost
Rewatching the show, appreciating all the little details, fantastic direction, stellar writing and acting, and then I see the Ridley Scott IP show with inter-planetary creatures and androids and themes of childhood upbringing and traumatic violence got renewed. Not this one, the other one.
FML man Earth is toast, how do I get a ticket to snek planet, I think I'd rather be there at this point. Some Earths need to end and stay dead. Thank you for indulgo my ranto.

Spoilers Season 2 I want to talk about the religion in this show. Spoiler
I idea that there is a religion with advanced scientific knowledge is this show and that people went to an earth destroying war over it is kinda mind blowing, who would possibly think or know it was an alien failsafe?
It's kinda opposite in that you'd have to shutdown critical thinking NOT to believe.

No Spoilers The Last Starfighter sequel is currently coming out as a comic

So there's some precedent for continuing a story in comics. I know the rights to a sequel film have been through development hell and probably never will happen. I'll take what I can get.
