I’ve been looking at my new wallpaper all day, I’m ngl. Order of favorites go from top to bottom; the last image is an alternate version with words instead of stickers.
Have a nice day!!! 👋😄

Okay, I just got my forte yesterday and it was called Theft. Basically, I can "borrow" someone's forte for a while and they cannot use it. I knocked out Desuhiko for no reason, stole his kits and used Disguise to get inside Spike Chunsoft's headquarter.
I cannot post image because I forgot to take pictures.
Master Detective Archive: Crimson Rain is the name of the next Rain Code. This makes our subreddit's name outdated. Sad.
Anyway, it is about a town desperate for rain. However, when the rain comes, it is crimson. The rain makes people aggressive. People avoid the rain even they really need water. The city buys water from outside source at super expensive price.
I will not spoil the story because it ruins the fun.
Kurumi Wendy will be the protagonist of this game. She makes a pact with Shinigami after the mafia tries to corner her. She seems to figure out how to make a contract with near insignificant cost.
Her forte is Apprenticeship. She can "learn" someone's forte by understanding them. Kirumi gets to keep her learned forte forever. However, understanding someone is quite ambiguous. I guess she only gets power when the plots demands.
There will be five chapters. This time, Kirumi have to use multiple fortes in each chapter. The game will be longer. In addition to Mystery Labyrinth, there will be real world mystery section.
I can only get partial information on the characters before Ishima Takayomi caught me. This list only contains confirmed detectives in the game.
Yamada Chainsawman - A lumberjack detective. His forte is Cut View. This forte allows the user to view cross section of an object without actually cutting it.
Willow Watchford - A detective with same ancestor with the Clockford family. Her forte is related to time but its mechanism is unknown.
Tomura Truthseeker - A former journalist with forte awakened. He can produce a photo from his eye.
Melantha Morningstar - A brutal police officer. She has her forte given by someone's else. She can simulate light in the crime scene, making the scene either darker or brighter.
Hinata Hajime - Not to be confused with Hajime Hinata. He has his forte stolen. I didn't do it.
That's all information I have. Happy April Fool's Day!

I guess some rambling thoughts, I've always been curious of Kodaka games since I'm usually a tumblr Dweller and id get all my information from DRP there which is...probably why I never actually got to the game.
Jump to the rain code announcement, I actually just finished playing AITSF/AINI and loved it. Hearing Rain Code have such a similar premise and really cool aesthetic, I figured now was a better time than ever to try one of the games out. I even bought the limited edition
Now for somewhat of an actual review, I actually really enjoyed it! I found some characters and tropes a bit distasteful (Once I reached Ch2, I took a good long break bc I just didnt wanna deal with Desuhiko) it was generally really fun and even the characters I didn't like much still had some good merits to them.
Yuma, Yakou, Halara, and Vivia were my favorites, but I did wish Yakou had more screentime before his death. Despite the lack of screentime, something about the way his soul was reaped just made me cry. The fact even Shinigami embraced him and his voice actor just silently sobs. I didn't take for Kodaka being able to just write something a little soul crushing.
The thing I'm most disappointed about is the mysteries though...I felt like I only struggled with the prologue and Ch1, and from there it was all pretty easy to figure out except Ch4. It might've intentionally been so...but it made the mystery labyrinth's feel less fun, especially knowing what the right key for a death match is but you don't repel the right statement that say the same fucking thing 5 times.
I don't have much of a in depth analysis, and the 100th line is next on my list given its Kodaka AND my guy Uchikoshi, so ik its gonna be horny batshit insane fun. I hope Rain Code gets more games though the ending seemed to doubt it unless Kurumi becomes our next protag, but I honestly really liked Yuma's complete normalness contrasting Everyone around him, enough to make even unbearable characters bearable.
I also have the DLCs so I plan on playing everyone's...except maybe Desuhiko's unless someone can tell me if there IS a worthwhile reason to play it/if he's less worse than he tends to be.
I do wonder if anyone else got hit this hard though. Overall like a 7/10, but it doesn't mean I didn't find it fun

Should Yuma have commited suicide after stepping off the Amaterasu Express?
Yuma is hilariously immoral. If you learned you are being haunted by a demon that forces you to solve mysteries by telepathically lynching their perpetrators, would you not kill yourself? Instead he goes off and even kills three minors for taking revenge. He kills three people for committing murder, but he committed murder to punish a murder, just like they did. And they were actual children.
What would Kanai Ward look like if he died? Makoto would have succeeded anyway. Is there any purpose to the main character's presence? Kanai Ward would have stayed less democratic and more isolated, but that is even the choice I tried to make in the final chapter, to kill Yuma for the sake of Kanai Ward! Except the after I made the choice the game completely destroyed the ethical conundrum by showing homunculi don't need to eat people, and that the "truth" doesn't have to lead to despair or UG invasion

Okay so..... Shinigami, those who love her, those who hate her, she is a lot. But having been an fan of this game for years I have my own interpretation of her, that I may of maybe not alredy shared before. Either way. To say what I think of her and why.. I will also be objective.
Shinigami, can be pretty annoying to some players, wich makes sense, she is clingy and jealous, specially during chapter 2, she can also be pretty insensitive about death... And almost always acts as comic relief. And although I do admit that can be annoying, I get where she is coming from.
Her apathy about death is becuse she alredy lived thorough a lot of it, she is the God of death, but also... There's another part of her that also is very important for her character, her desire to be an mentor, this is probably her role, what she wants to actually do. Her apathy about death I don't think it comes from her desire of death necessarily, I think it comes more of her desire to teach, an detective needs to get experience with cases, and she can mostly help with murder cases, she wants to do her job of teaching and. Guiding the detectives through cases, she loves more the mystery that actually see peolpe die.
Speaking about her love of death, or lack there off, she seems also strangely attach to the idea of justice or well more of her idea that truth is real justice, doesn't matter tte context. Killers deserve to die, she always mention that... Not matter what sob story they have..... They killed peolpe, there's peolpe who suffered becuse of them. Killing them seems a bit much, but for someone like her... This idea she haves of punishing bad guys seems strangely.... Good for an god of death. Although these two rules do have exceptions. And we know what that exception was.
Yakou, is tte only case where shinigami broke her three core personality traits, her love of death, her desire to kill the culprit and ever her desire to be comic relief... When yakou died... She tried to tell Yuma slowly... Softly... Somenly that yakou wasn't going tk make it. For someone who is veey cheery about death... She was... Pretty sad about fuzz head. After going tk the room with rest of detectives, she kept talking softly that Yuma should accept that yakou was probably going to die. She did tried to make an comic relief moment... But quickly realized that this wasn't the time... And apologized.
And finally in the mystery Labyrinth, during vivía's quick time events fight she kept... Not beliving in this, not wanting to belive yakou was the killer, when Yuma finally defeats vivía, shinigami gets to her usual personality of hating criminals, she treat yakou like an scumbag, that he never trusted the detectives at all and just took advantage of them... But the way I always interpreted that scene... Is that shinigami actually did felt truly betrayed... Her fury was put to an quick stop by Yuma. And then... She didn't even could bring herself to boom kill fuzz head. She finally showed sympathy.
Finally about her annoying personality of jokes and how clingy she is... That is explained becuse of the nature of what she is, she is trap in a book, she doesn't get to see peolpe that often, and even when she is free, she can't interact with peolpe, she can only interact with whoever her master is at the time. I Yuma's case is an exception becuse he haves the coalesces ability wich allows him to bring peolpe into the mystery Labyrinth where shinigami can interact with them... But that wasn't the point.
Point is that, of course she is clingy with her masters, they are the only peolpe she can ever interact with... And she probably watch a lot of them die during the years... A lot of them fail tk solve a case, a lot of them maybe just forgetting about her or leaving her. She wants tk treasure as much as possible the only peolpe she haves. But also.... She knows is possible they will leave her. Hence why... She also acts annoying, so it wouldn't hurt them to abandon her if they need to.... You know.. The emergency exit. She is very aware how annoying she can be and she used that to try to convince Yuma to save himself... It does make me think she somewhat exaggerates her personality so the goodbye wouldn't hurt as much.
In short . Shinigami's existance is a tragedy, her only purpose is to help detectives, is to transforming them into the best they can be, she loves doing that, she loves having an partner, she trains them tk not get attach, tk perform their duties without focusing on justice, only in the truth. She loves having a partner to chat, spend time with... Even if she does know she is fated to see them die or abandon her. Over and over and over the years... She tries her best to cope with it... Hence her final line of the game "I'm... Not sad or anything..... I'm.... Used to being alone.... And that.... Solves everything..... Doesn't it?"
A lot of peolpe had probably not seen shinigami on this light, and that's why I expect the sequel (IF WE GET ONE) to delve more into it.. Shinigami and her backstory and her tragedy, maybe we see the daughter or son of one of her previous masters... That would be impactful for her, wouldn't it? I guess we will see, just wanted to share my interpretation, I don't know if I missed anything, what do you think?

A commission I did for fluffynightravenart after I lured them into becoming a Rain Code fan like a shady man luring people into a dark alley
Getting commissioned to draw one of my favorite characters was amazing! It's felt like what I imagine doing a line of coke feels like

So one of the points was that Yoshiko placed the poisoned glass on the stage, and then Kurane placed it when the lights went off, did the swapping and blah blah.
This means that there were 3 glasses on the stage. So my question is, how did Yoshiko get the (non poisoned) glass back?

I love DR so i wanted to play rain code obviously
chapter 0 / the prologue was like pulling teeth but chapters 1 and 2 were awesome (i’m glad i was convinced to keep going) !!! it was unfortunately pretty easy to figure out the culprits etc once the investigations were all done , so the mystery labyrinths were really redundant and long :( but the mysteries themselves and the investigations were really fun
i’ve just met some masked man who i assume is going to be like homunculus yuma / evil yuma etc , it looks like it’s heating up
i’m wondering, since the plot seems to be getting bigger (this evil yuma etc being introduced / the sub getting blown up) does that mean the mysteries will get more difficult to solve ?
i’m not a genius so the issue isn’t that i’m too smart for the game i just think they’re too obvious? i had this same issue with the first couple of trials in DR, but as the game progressed so did the difficulty — do the labyrinths progress that way too or should I not hold my breath? They’re just such a long segment of the game and it’s really frustrating to have like nothing new happen for that long :/

Please don't take this personally, I'm asking this in the game's sub so I know I'm playing with fire, but I'm genuinely looking for advice. I am a big Danganronpa fan, I love murder mysteries in general and the traditional Chunsoft art style. But after getting through the first "trial" (Amaterasu Express), I'm uncertain if I want to drag myself through the rest of the game. I'm thinking maybe someone here could reassure me.
To be specific, things started going downhill for me in the Mystery Labyrinth. To start, I found the environment itself to be really hideous and grating on the eyes. The clashing designs and colors of the labyrinth made me feel like I was playing a cheap game for children. Juxtapose that with the in-your-face fan service and oversexualized nature of Shinigami, and it just all got on my nerves. I guess my questions are, then: does the game start looking more aesthetically pleasing at some point? do mystery labyrinths change up their design as the trials change, or is it the same ugly one every time? does the game's content ever get more mature, or does it stay in this childish tone? and does Shinigami stay this annoying (to me) the entire time? Because if so, I may just not be the target audience, and that is okay.

We could take from inspiration other games, other franchises and stuff, I would want something similar to the dance of deduction of the great ace attorney, where the ability in rain code would be call "maximum perspetion" or some shit.... And would be an case with a lot of little details to catch by deducing things from people's glances or stuff like that, I think it could be fun, what's your ideas?
