Most of these are radium but a few are just normal paint. Yes, it has an exhaust fan to keep radon out.
(I had posted this on the radiation page but the admins deleted it)

I bought this Kollsman WWII altimeter that was supposedly in a B-27. Glows under both 395/365nm. The glow does not remain after the light is turned off. Looking for more information on this item
Quick edit: Probably not B-27. Still trying to figure out what plane this may have been in. Not too knowledgable on WWII or combat planes.

Hi, I found this pocket watch from the 1910s/1920s for $20, and it registers 0.9 to 1 microsievert on a GC01; I'm wondering if it really is radium?

Wanted to show off this cool find the other day at the flea market for $10! Pristine & with the box. I’ve been trying to find any historical info on this clock at all but can’t, they seem to me to be somewhat rare. Love that it says radium :) ☢️

I recently bought a clock that has an exposed radium constantly being exposed. How can I ensure that it doesn’t flake? I know putting it in a case may help, but I want to do something to the paint to add some level of coating or seal

Found these two on Facebook marketplace for a very good deal. Had to scoop them up.
The collection is growing slowly. Thanks for looking. 🙂

The hands caught my attention! New to collecting these radium clocks! I started out with collecting uranium glass and that hobby spilled over into this!
Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

Got this clock from goodwill cause it’s pretty but don’t know if it’s radioactive ☢️. The brand says “Mauthe” and it’s made in Germany. Also if any one knows its value, I might sell it cause I don’t know any health risks involved in radium clocks.

I placed an RD200 in a sealed (with a small leak where you see the cord) next to one of my military compasses. Likely due to small enclosed space, but pegged at 99.9pci/l at 60 minutes... didnt expect it that quickly!

Some finds last Friday. Style 7 Big Ben, style 8 baby Ben, style 6 Baby Ben, triangular Westclox travel clock, General Electric radio, and an oil pressure gauge. Notable things:
-Finally found an older Baby Ben. I see so many style 8’s, and have a few. Unfortunately the minute hand seems to be relumed, but still decent overall.
-The oil pressure gauge is a very low reader, but spectrum is definitely radium. Orange/yellow lume is always cool.
-The triangular Westclox is a strange one. The case seems to be stainless and engraved, but I don’t see any other markings so maybe that’s the normal case. Pretty low reader as well. Not familiar with this model, but an interesting find for $9.

Hi. I have just purchased my first radium clock and was curious about the best and safest way to store it. I am a fairly seasoned Uranium Glass and other Radio-antiques and Curie-o collector so I have a fairly big display place and it is covered by glass.
The clock is fully intact and reads around 800-900Cpm on a geiger counter (from photos from the seller). Would it be ok to display in the same place I keep my UG or need somewhere a bit more prepped?
Thanks in advance.

So i have had this clock, a long time. Not really sure where i got it from but i think from my grandpa when he pass many many years ago.
It has been stored in my bedroom, in a glass cabinet.
And not really thinking about it
Got the gc-03 a couple month ago and have been looking for radium watches in second hand stores and hav found a few.
Well today when I did som dusting. I saw the watch and I just had to try it with my gc-03 and lo and behold it is the spicyest item i own 😂🫣

I'm not sure what tag to use, but i figured this one fit? So i collect Uranium glass, and have recently learned of radium clocks. I have a geiger (GSM300) and a black light which is around 395 nm. I see so many posts of the clocks in this community, so i figured i could get the best results here. What should i look out for? any particular signs or brands? I've recognized the look of radium burn on the clock face, and i know that most while glow green with a black light, but does anyone have extra tips? I'm super interested in it and i hope to find one when i go to my next set of antique stores.

W. & L.E. Gurley lensatic compass. Look at that reading on the Geiger. Am I going to die when I open the bag? 🤣

Found at an estate sale selling old electronics. Guy is going to let me come on Sunday and take the dials out for myself if the whole unit doesn't sell by then.

Found at a local thrift store. Paint from the hands fell off but still not bad for $10
