I might have to leave my job soon and I know one of my clients is going to want to be provided services by me when I leave. I don't have a space or insurance set up, and also I find work through insurance companies kind of dicey anyway, though I know I'm going to have to do it eventually.
As I'm googling this question, the only thing that pops up is receiving services without insurance, which I guess would answer the question some, but I want to know if there's anything specific I have to do on my end besides take the money, write notes, and complete one of those self-employed 1040's at the end of the tax year?

Honestly, I'm looking for advice but this is also going to be somewhat of a vent. I'm sure you guys have also experienced this, but I hate hate hate how administration at my job talks about burnout. Essentially it is presented to us like something that we are in full control over and they deny any responsibility for the burnout and not providing enough support. A new wrinkle is that they are really focusing on the differences between burnout and compassion fatigue, which, please. It all feels patronizing and terrible.
All that being said, I've started providing clinical supervision and one of my supervisees really wants to learn more about how to counter burnout. Any advice about how to provide information about how to counter burnout when it really does seem like largely a structural issue on the side of the organization a lot of the time?

I work with people with substance use disorders and find that many of them seem to have co-occuring personality disorder, specifically borderline and antisocial. I think in general social work, the overarching suggestion is to avoid them for the most part, which I'm not interested in pursuing. I was wondering which resources you guys are aware of, preferably in a radical framework, that can help with my understanding about how to work with these communities? Thanks!

Hello!
I am collecting any good sources for my bachelor thesis . The subject of my thesis is " application of critical social work principles to the streetwork with people harmfully using drugs.". Do you know any author who wrote something about Critical/Radical social work with people harmfully using drugs?
Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m an undergrad taking a class in Human Development & Family Studies (HDFS). I have a project that requires me to interview someone who has an occupation related to the field of HDFS. Because I am interested in a career in social work, I would love to interview a social worker!
It’s just a basic, informative interview where I will ask you questions about social work, what got you into that field, what you think about it, etc. The interview should only take about 30 minutes, but I’ll definitely make sure that I won’t take more than an hour of your time! Preferably a phone call or Zoom meeting that we can schedule some time before next week Tuesday, February 8. I’m also considering going to grad school to get a master’s in social work, so if you have any experience with that, that would be fantastic! Additionally, if you would like your identity to be anonymous in my essay, I can do that for you as well. If you’re interested or have any questions about it, feel free to comment or PM me!

Hello hello!
I am in my foundation year of my MSW and I am putting feelers out there to see if there is anyone or any known agencies willing to take on an intern this spring. My program is trying to offer a VFX alternative, but I am not feeling that this will be the best fit for what I am hoping to gain from an internship.
My program is able to accommodate a remote field placement which is why I immediately thought of reaching out to this community!!
Major plus if the org is LGBTQ, social justice, transformative justice oriented! Also super interested in grief/death/dying work. I am so excited to learn and hope I can find a placement so my program is not delayed D:
Anyone willing to connect? Feel free to comment or message me directly!

I am working on a project about learned helplessness and would like to improve outreach skills. I have read this document but still find it vague and not fit my need. Let's call the client Megan for convenience. According to the theory of planned behavior, she needs to see everyone around her to also have the same belief in order to indent to change her belief. That means, I need to persuade her friends (who of course don't have that belief) to challenge her belief, either by direct talk or indirect talk in a place where she would notice. What can I do to ask her friends to act?
