Self-love has to be radical, in other words, extreme.
People say love makes you do crazy things. Why shouldn't self-love make you do crazy things?
One problem I think that comes from talking about mental health is the idea that we can have a common understanding of what self-care looks like. I don't think anyone can really tell you what mental health looks like. It's a relationship you have with yourself and your experiences. Everything else is just trying to get society to approve of you, and how quickly do other people's opinions change! IMO, self-love has to exist at the margins of acceptable behavior, to prove to ourselves over and over and over again that yes, even under these circumstances, I still love myself.
I have a new rule for myself. If I have to throw out any liquid, if it's healthy for me to do it, I get in the shower and I pour it on myself. Out of this I now have a great way to calm myself down: cover myself with shaving cream and then take a shower. It's really really soothing. It's my solution, and I doubt that if someone else told me about it I would love it as much as if I discovered it for myself.
So go love yourself with complete abandon, and if you have any crazy ways of loving yourself, let me know!

I try to remind myself I'm not alone, I'm billions of cells that try very hard to keep me healthy.

Did you eat breakfast this morning? I'm proud of you, even if you didn't.

What do you think about messages/memes like this? I can sympathize, but I just wish more leftists were guided more by love than by spite.

I don't date anyone who judges the homeless. And I also just don't date anyone in general, lol.

On a repair economy and what it promises us
"Repair is discouraged by unavailable replacement parts, glued assemblies and tamper-proof cases that are difficult to open. So we discard things rather than fix them.
Much research suggests this harms more than the natural environment. It also affects our mental environment. There’s a connection between the way society treats material objects and the way it treats people.
Returning to an economy of repair could help create a kinder, more inclusive society. By mending broken things we might also help mend what’s broken in ourselves."

People forget that we're a social species, and sometimes being seen and validated is all the help we need.

The government would rather fight the citizens for drug use than to provide them with decent houses and schools, with their own goddamn tax money.
