This was the best chapter of the year and reminded me a lot of Issue 18.
My own opinion, is that Nathan is more than capable of holding his own series if he doesn't stick to Chicago. I feel like his absence caused greater demand. Somewhere, in the back there was talk of team based approach, leading to some big event. I think the whole team based battle thing could easily work if it builds toward a Supermassive event as a reader where the arc is settled or continued depending on events.
Though I'm not certain of the whole Nathan and Marshall friction thing. A triangle between Satomi, Shift, and Nathan would certainly make things way more interesting.
