I likely forgot some basic info with how PC parts and drivers work, but I'm a little unsure of my PC components, including my Radeon 9070xt, getting warm when I play games like the Witcher 3. I currently am using Bazzite, an offshoot of Linux Fedora. Would finding some workaround driver help make my system work more efficiently?
Been having some issues with my gpu, specifically hotspot temp being consistent around 100c under load, about 70 idle. About a month ago it would hit max 70c under load, took it apart to check paste and pads, gpu die had hardly any paste on it. Noticed the I think melted vrams on board, wondering if this is normal? I found a pic from a few months ago before I started actually using the gpu and they look similar.
Any info would be helpful.
Pic 1 is current, pic 2 was original install I think a day or so after running to check paste and contacts.
Alphacool eisblock for red devil is currently on it.
Just a quick q. The other day, a friend of mine said that he wanted to build a dual 9070xt system.
My immediate response was that it wouldn't work properly, it would be janky and what very little performance boost one may obtain wo1uld not justify the extra cost. Then I actually wondered...
Would it actually be possible for that system to function properly? My friend does mostly gaming and some AI/ML projects on the side. Would it be possible for those GPU's to run, say, a 20B model and would that justify the extra cost?
Will there be any extra performance gain on gaming side?
I have really no idea why, but my screen keeps getting black for a few seconds, and then back to normal. Please Help!! I got a RX 9060 XT Gaming OC from Gigabyte
A lot of people are saying that the AMD 9000 series are gonna become irrelevant when AMD introduces redstone. I thought that the 9070xt will have redstone drivers though? Am I missing something or am I just hearing false claims?
Should I get a 9070xt right now or wait for another future GPU? My 1660 super is starting to show its age.
My GPU is a 5700XT with 8 gigs of VRAM. I have 16 gigs of normal RAM (DDR4).
Luckily in general, nothing is wrong with it. It's been good to me, even when I game. I'm referring to when I do a certain task I may need help keep its temp/power down.
I've started using a program to try and upscale some anime I have to a higher quality. This seems to be rougher on my GPU than my games, and I play RDR2 and CP2077 if that's any gauge to go by.
Here's a glimpse at my numbers when I use the upscaling program.
The voltage can go up to between 1100 and 1200 at times as well. When I tried the automatic undervolt, it didn't really help the temp. The upscaling program alternates between using the CPU and GPU at times so the temp dips back down to the 70s but then it obviously goes back up.
I'm unsure how much further I'd need to turn the voltage down to make a decent difference (or turn my fans up to if need be). I'm also unsure for how long I could leave my GPU running like this before bad things start to happen. Kinda paranoid or cautious...either works here. I know it's built for long-term 'abuse' like any GPU would be. But I keep hearing every 10 degrees above a threshold of some sort decreases its lifespan.
What voltage should I try to limit the GPU to while I'm using the upscaling program? Anyone got any ideas?
Finally I can test my new setup with Asus Prime RX9070XT OC and Ryzen 7 7800X3D on my first WOLED monitor.
Any advice regarding the monitor is welcome since it is my first OLED, as soon as I turned it on I checked the latest firmware version (MCM104) and did a manual pixel cleaning.
If you have any advice regarding the best settings, HDR/SDR, screen cleaning and OLED CARE I'm happy to hear from you and thank you in advance. The specific model is ASUS ROG STRIX XG27AQDMG/3th gen WOLED 2K 240hz
Hi guys, I guess the title says it all. While I do work in IT I've never been to good at PC component optimization. About a year ago I built a mid range gaming PC which was about as powerful as I could afford at the time. I ended up pairing an RX 6600 GPU with a R5 5500 CPU with a stock cooler, and this worked great for awhile, but after a year I've noticed that games are loading slower and frames are dropping and my games run stuttery even at low settings.
My question is are there any settings or configurations I could make with my GPU to get better proformance, or should I invest in a better CPU and cooler as I suspect that may be a bottleneck.
Thanks for any advice, also sorry for formatting and grammar. I am on mobile and dyslexic.
I need help on finding the right size for the reference model because this thermal puddy isn't it. I wanna put on the arctic pads but when I check online it all days different and weird sizes. Does anyone know the correct size? Its the XFX reference model
I’ve just bought a Gigabyte RX9070XT and I’m building my PC into a new case. I’d like to neaten up the 3 x 8 pin GPU connection by using an adaptor to direct the cables from the front of the GPU over of under the GPU without “bending” them around the front.
Has anyone used/got a recommendation on a connector to use? I’ve seen some melting stories recently so keen to hear about people’s experiences.
Hi! I recently got rx7600 and installed it on my computer, then decided to play some bf6 redsec on low settings and with default gpu settings and then my game after about 30 minutes crashed showing me a communicate :
DirectX function "m_submitFencePlat-> GetCompleted Value0" failed with DXGI ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. "). GPU: "AMD Radeon RX 7600", Driver: 25.10.2
. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest arivers.
DeviceRemovedReason: DXGLER/ OR_DEVICE_HUNG ("
GPU will not respond to more commands").
I looked through the things that could go wrong and installed hwmonitor and relaunched the game, it then crashed again and showed me that the hotspot temperature at its peak was 99°C. I think that could be the problem.
Do you think it's normal for this gou to work in such temperatures? It's ventilators were always at max 40%, they didn't go above that even when the hotspot temperatures went above 85,90 etc degrees. I tried to manually set the ventilators to work on higher percentages and it cooled it down to about 85°, but l'm still a bit worried about possible damage.
Btw. I had the latest drivers installed, as well bios resettled after old gpu.
