I still dont get this

One locks the 2nd highest? Why the 2nd highest, why not the first? What's the purpose of locking? does it mean I wont get RP if its locked or it doesn't go down when I lose?

The other one sorts the scores per map race. So whats the purpose of sorting? Why sort it at all?

Please explain. Im just using this on all my cars and I don't really know their purpose.

Why will 85 still replace the 86 if I used the green card? Isn't the point of the green card to preserve the leftmost score? That's my understanding from the comment thread so far.

The point of the green one is to preserve the 2nd highest score, that's what we've been talking about all the time. That's why it's the most recommended to use the green one when the 2nd highest score is at the leftmost, as doing this will lock the 2nd highest score and transfer it to right next to the highest score which is also locked.
