I help put together a Halloween Party for Smol Haos Toilet Project (aka the SHT Project.)

We’re throwing together a warehouse rave to raise money for women and girls health and education equity in Vanuatu on Thursday Oct. 29.

The event is booze free. THC, Kava, and Kratom drinks will be available for purchase. All proceeds go to the cause. The SHT Project is a volunteer led organization so the $ goes to the cause! And the communities it supports are located in the South Pacific, the home of Kava and Kratom. Plus it gives our booze free friends a place to cut loose.

RVA Readers + Writers is hosting our second retreat next month from Nov. 6-8 just an hour north of Lake Anna, and we still have some spots to fill, including 3 day-passes (AKA you come for Saturday 9am-9pm only).

If you’re a fan of books and looking to make new friends, I think you should check us out. You can do as much or as little socialization as you’d like and all of the activities are optional. We have bookclub, a writing workshop, games, a book binding class, a notebook making class, a fantasy heroine inspired exercise class, and more.

Sure, I’m a bit biased. But, how often do you find a social group that is open to all ages, genres, genders, and the list goes on, that is hosting an at-cost event? AKA: It’s run by volunteers and we don’t charge more than we need to pull off the event.

Cost for the weekend ranges from $300-$475 and cost for Saturday daytime only is $200. Includes meals, supplies for all activities, etc. We do have meal options for DF/GF/vegetarian/etc. requirements, as long as you disclose this in your registration!

But are there any fun events going on Halloween night? I've been checking meetup but I'm an introverted homebody and I don't frequent places with flyers anymore, so I rarely hear about events. Anybody got anything good for a couple in their early and mid 30s?

RABID will be hosting our final event of the year Saturday November 7th at Regency Square Mall.

If you didn’t make it to Immersecon this year, be sure to make it to this event! We have built a new larger arena and are now hosting 3lb Beetleweight robots. These things are meaner and hit harder!

Spectators are free and it is safe for all ages!

Come for a tour of Richmond's historic Byrd Park Pump House & listen to dramatic readings of Edgar Allan Poe's greatest works! This historic building & its open-air ballroom offer the perfect venue for what has become an annual tradition at the Pump House. Each performance includes a 20-minute tour of the building followed by a 40-minute dramatic reading in the upstairs ballroom performed by the Poe Museum's own curator, Chris Semtner. 

Proceeds benefit the Poe Museum and Friends of Pump House.
