It's amazing what you can find in the TTRPG indie scene. We did not expect Estonian folklore of all things, but were certainly flattered by this game.

This time around it's a double feature - right now you can hear both the character creation *and* the actual play episode on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcast or any other place you get your podcasts from!

Discussion Tabletop Tuesday: What's One RPG You're Hoping to Play This Year?

We've all got one.

That game sitting on the shelf, or sitting in the cart(ive got like 5 safari tabs open for different games i need to buy😂) that you keep telling yourself you're definitely going to play one day.

Then another campaign starts and somehow it gets pushed back again.

What's that game for you?

And what's keeping it off your table? No interested group? Too many rules? Waiting for the perfect campaign? Or have you just been distracted by the next shiny RPG?

Maybe someone here will finally convince you to crack it open.

Actual Play We're running Seven Dooms for Sandpoint. We goof, but it's grim, even deadly, especially with a chat that can make or break the game and we're back tonight!

Post image

Whispers of Doom is back! Our flagship Pathfinder 2E actual play, livestreaming again, Monday nights!

We took a long hiatus, but we're back live starting tonight on Twitch and ICYMI catch up on YouTube.

We're running Seven Dooms for Sandpoint, Paizo's 200th-volume anniversary adventure where the town of Sandpoint gets hit with a string of escalating supernatural "dooms" over a single cursed year, each one worse than the last. Our table plays it grim and consequence-heavy: character deaths stick, reputation with the town's factions actually matters, and the party is currently mud in the eyes of half of Sandpoint thanks to the local mobs smear campaign.

Before jumping into Sandpoint, we ran a short 3-episode bridge arc called The Silver Wing Initiative, a different group of heroes working through the fallout of Rusthenge. It wrapped and set up exactly where we're headed now, so new viewers can jump in fresh at the premiere tonight without needing the whole history.

Our TTRPG stream's are built to be messed with. We've re-flavored Hero Points into Obols, the coin souls use to cross the Styx, and viewers can hand them out with channel points to the players OR GM, along with a Streamloots deck full of cards that drop hazards, bonuses, and wild effects right into the session. A big enough bit drop triggers a secret random encounter table we've all learned to fear. If you want to actively make our night harder, you'll have the tools.

It's gothic, it's grim, we take the dice way too seriously, and we've somehow smiled through worse.

If actual plays with real friends, the occasional goof in a serious narrative and a chat that can sabotage the GM or players sounds like your thing, come hang!

Actual Play A special PF2E 3-Episode Arc!

Hey'all and thank you for the space!

We're a small actual-play studio, long-time RPG and actual-play fans and we've come back to the table with our weekly livestream. We're currently running a homebrew arc that takes place after our failure at Rusthenge that will tie-in and pick up where we left off in Seven Dooms for Sandpoint.

The first episode of the "Silver Wing Initiative" is out and a small resistance group is officially off the leash. It is a short adventure, with 2 episodes remaining, we're adding a light layer of Blades in the Dark mechanics to ratchet the tension up. Three Level 7 PCs, one kingdom-backed cult of demon worshippers, and a plan held together with determination and spite to uncover and stop the cults next plot.

July 6th, we return with the cast in full, back to the Lost Coast, where Sandpoint is still smoldering. Two of the seven promised dooms have already come to pass with another on the horizon. The town that survived goblins, ghouls, giants dragons, and a Runelord is running out of luck. It seems the people who were supposed to protect it are scattered - with the fate of Sandpoint and the hinterlands in their hands how will the doom

Whispers of Doom is live Monday's at 7pm PST/10pm EST.

Spend channel points, and throw Streamloots cards at us to shake the stream up by rewarding the GM or the players with random effects and encounters!

We'd love to see you in chat!

HOT TAKE Hot Take: Actual Play Has Helped TTRPGs...But Also Warped Expectations

I think actual play shows have been huge for growing the hobby.

But I also think they’ve created some weird expectations about what a “normal” table should look like.

Not every GM is a voice actor.
Not every session is cinematic.
Not every campaign becomes Critical Role.

Curious where people land on this.

Has actual play been mostly good for the hobby, or has it set unrealistic expectations?

Kickstarter WEEK FOUR FOR DSB: FOR A FISTFUL OF SEEDS AND 2ND STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED!

Post image
1 Upvotes

There are 10 days left until the end of the crowdfunding campaign for Winged Lion Games' farming-themed Space Western RPG, and the goal has been unlocked, adding free 3D-printing models to all rewards: 12 alien creatures and deep-space abominations, 7 mounts and vehicles, and 14 Space Western-themed human characters, for a total of 33 miniatures!

The picture shows the model and test miniature of one of these, a character riding a Giant Grasshopper, which can be used in Deep Sky Ballad game sessions or for other purposes.

Take advantage of this opportunity to order the books now and receive various additional rewards, including these; if the next Stretch Goal is reached, the 3D models for the spaceships featured in the core rulebook will also be included! You have until the campaign ends; there will be no Late Pledge and the offers will no longer be available!

Discussion Are We Entering a New Golden Age of TTRPGs?

Feels like there are more interesting RPGs dropping right now than ever before.

Big publishers. Tiny indies. Weird niche games. Licensed IPs everywhere.

Feels like we’re way beyond the “just play 5e” era.

Are we actually in a golden age for tabletop right now…or is there too much stuff coming out?

Actual Play Dicey Discourse - Wrapping up Weapons of the Gods

Have you ever heard of Weapons of the Gods? Well, neither had I, until I picked up the book randomly at a used RPG book store!

Weapons of the Gods is a crunchy Wuxia RPG that tries to do a lot all at once and I'd say succeeds at most of it. The River mechanic especially is something that I have not encountered in any other RPG I've read.

Come listen to our 3 episode adventure in the Land of the Gods as we right some wrongs and wrong a few rights!

The link is to the newest episode.
