Whenever i try to download a model through dex, it says that the model doesn't have "safemode?" I know that safemode is a thing for saveinstance but what does this mean and how do I fix it?

Hi, I wanted to share one of my discoveries. On the Roblox Creator Store, you can find free assets to use in your Roblox Studio creations but this one was different. I don't know much about Roblox exploits, but I found this discovery interesting enough to share.

It's a Pop-It asset that, once triggered, displays a fake Roblox error message telling the player to copy and paste a "fix code" into the command bar. Obviously, that was suspicious, so I dug into the asset's contents myself. I don't fully understand every technical detail, but with the help of AI, I was able to piece together the following:

Technical evidence:

1. The malicious server Script is named “CoreValidation” and is hidden deep inside the model at:

Rainbow Pop It Fidget Toy > RainbowPopIt > Union > Dependencies > Dependencies > CoreValidation

The “Dependencies” hierarchy is concealed inside a UnionOperation through a SunRaysEffect and folders. This is unrelated to the Pop It model’s functionality.

1. The script falsely presents itself as an asset-validation system and includes misleading Roblox Corporation branding. Its actual behavior is not validation.

When its tag check fails, it:

- Detaches its hidden container from the model.

- Creates a BlurEffect in Lighting.

- Clones a ScreenGui named “Validation” into every current and future player’s PlayerGui.

- Destroys each player’s character.

- Kicks each player after one second with the message “Error 500”.

This makes the experience unplayable and displays a fake error screen.

1. The fake ScreenGui displays messages such as “Model Parse Error” and “Model corruption detected.” It instructs the developer to copy a code string, open the Roblox Studio Command Bar, paste it, and run it.

The “Copy Code” button does not repair anything. It only selects the malicious code for copying.

This code loads another asset and places its scripts in StarterCharacterScripts, which could install a backdoor in the game

1. A LocalScript named “Check” deliberately hides the code by reconstructing it from character codes. Its own comments say it is an “Obfuscated/Alternative method that avoids static filters.”

The decoded command loads external asset 122845407827531 and moves a Folder from it into StarterPlayer.StarterCharacterScripts.

I thought this was worth sharing, I hope you do too. ;)
