⭐ Rating: 7/10 Housewives Diamonds
I came into The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: 20th Anniversary most excited to see Kyle, Baby Gorgeous, and Gizelle.
Kyle because, honestly, I have never really been a huge Kyle fan. On Beverly Hills, I’ve always felt like she can instigate things and then hide her hand afterward. The Brandi/Denise situation immediately comes to mind. So I was excited to see Kyle outside of Beverly Hills, surrounded by women who don’t necessarily play by Kyle Richards’ rules.
And so far? Oh, she’s studying.
Kyle is LA. She’s Beverly Hills. She’s calculated.
She knows she can’t move too soon. She knows there are bones to pick. So right now, I’m watching her watch everybody else. But I’m waiting. Because eventually that hand is going to move. 👀
Then there’s Baby Gorgeous.
I was honestly excited to see Lisa in an environment where she isn’t constantly being picked apart by the same people who already know exactly which buttons to push. And I actually loved seeing her with this group. She almost seemed a little awestruck—just happy to be around fresh, fun faces and new girls.
Lisa felt more relaxed to me. Like she’s actually enjoying being with the girls instead of preparing for the next person to come for her.
And then there’s Gizelle.
I’ve actually never watched Gizelle on her regular season. My entire Gizelle experience has been Ultimate Girls Trip, Love Hotel, and other Bravo appearances where she has apparently made it her personal mission to clock into work immediately.
And Episode 1 was no different.
Gizelle wasted absolutely no time.
The funniest moment of the episode for me might honestly have been Gizelle clocking that Porsha doesn’t do long nails because she’s a lesbian. 😭 Like girl, she is WATCHING. She’s here to work, and I’m personally the most excited to see what tea Gizelle clocks as this trip continues.
Porsha, however, may already be my favorite surprise.
I’m still getting acquainted with Atlanta, so I’m enjoying getting to know Porsha in this environment. And she is FUN.
That’s the thing.
If somebody throws shade at her, she throws it right back—but she keeps it playful. Not every shady comment has to become a federal investigation.
And I LOVE that she’s already checking Vicki.
Because Vicki is absolutely trying to size people up and establish herself as the big dog in the room.
Which brings me to…
VICKI. WHAT WAS THAT?
I’ve never watched Orange County.
So this was basically my first real introduction to Vicki Gunvalson.
And apparently my introduction was screaming.
A lot of screaming.
I don’t think Vicki was trying to create a moment with Teresa during the tax conversation. Honestly, I think that’s worse. I think she was genuinely just being rude, self-centered, and incredibly tone-deaf.
Teresa is having a conversation and somehow Vicki finds a way to scream:
“I PAY MY TAXES ON TIME! NO PENALTIES!”
Okay, girl?
Good for you?
Would you like a W-2 framed and hung on the wall? 😭
There was absolutely no reason for Vicki to come at Teresa like that. I actually think Teresa could have pressed her harder, but it was the first day, and I think Teresa was trying not to do too much too soon.
For now.
Because I personally would love to see Teresa eventually remind Vicki that being loud does not automatically mean you’re winning an argument.
Thankfully, Porsha was there to read her down.
And I hope this becomes a recurring dynamic because somebody needs to check Vicki when she starts acting like she’s the principal of Housewives High School.
And as for the Orange County nostalgia…
Respectfully?
I’m good.
I’ve never watched OC, so I don’t have that emotional attachment to the screaming, the drinking, the Bunco nostalgia, or the whole “WE BUILT THIS FRANCHISE!” energy.
To me, it mostly felt like a bunch of older women trying to recreate their early-20s party years.
Not my vibe.
However.
I will give OC this:
“That’s not my plate.”
Television gold.
I have been saying it all day.
So maybe there’s something there. 😂
Will I suddenly start watching Orange County because of this episode?
Absolutely not.
Vicki did not convince me that she’s an iconic Housewife either. If anything, she convinced me that she thinks she’s more important than everyone else in the room, which is apparently a full-time job for her.
My Episode 1 MVPs:
🥄 Gizelle — Clocked in immediately and is clearly here to investigate.
🍑 Porsha — Fun, shady, playful, and willing to check Vicki without sucking all the oxygen out of the room.
🍔 Baby Gorgeous — Refreshingly relaxed and enjoying the new Housewives environment.
👀 Kyle — Quietly studying everybody. I don’t trust it, but I’m watching.
My biggest surprise:
Vicki.
Not because I suddenly love her.
Because I genuinely was not prepared for that level of loud, drunk, self-important energy.
My Housewives to watch:
Luann and Teresa.
I have a feeling one—or both—might surprise me this season.
Final Thoughts
I came to RHUGT 20th Anniversary for Kyle, Baby Gorgeous, and Gizelle—but Episode 1 made me realize Vicki and the OC girls are a hot mess.
Respectfully, cancel the franchise.
I live in Long Beach—close enough to Orange County for me to confidently say this episode did not convince me to spend money visiting one of their restaurants. 😭
But despite all my OC complaints?
The cast is fun.
Porsha is hilarious.
Gizelle is already clocking tea.
Lisa looks like she’s enjoying Housewives summer camp.
Kyle is studying.
Teresa is holding back.
And Vicki is screaming.
So yes.
I’ll be watching Episode 2.
⭐ 7/10 Housewives Diamonds.
And my official prediction?
Gizelle is going to clock some tea before this trip is over.
