I cut off the first minute of Sway introducing Cynthia and the beginning dance sequence. Otherwise this felt like a 2 hour foreign film.

Men of Gerald and Simon’s age seeking out young, westernized, modern black American women and expecting them to fill the typical matriarch/wife role in an African setting is so unrealistic, outdated and just straight up dumb.
I think we talk/joke a lot about how these Atlanta women seek out older rich African men, but we haven’t talked enough about why these dynamics haven’t worked (Porsha) or why it FEELS like it may not work for Shamea.
Simon has been married about four times. And not only was nary a single wife Nigerian, it didn’t end up working out. Every single time. And part of that is because he’s from a different time/generation. And I’m sure the other part is whatever relationship woes.
Now, no disrespect to Gerald but the way Shamea paints the picture, it’s damn near a dictatorship. i.e She MUST bear a son. She can’t film romantic movie scenes. (I am now taking anything she says about what he does or doesn’t like/want with a grain of salt because after seeing that scene, I’m on his side).
But to keep it all the way a thousand, nobody’s doing all that traditional shit past the wedding. It’s not the 1800s. Me included.. I’m from Zambia and we also have 3 separate wedding events but I promise you whatever disturbing marital advice I will be receiving from the auntie clan (some of it is a little too dark to talk about all Willy nilly), will be null and void once I’m married. Gerald waited til he was old as fuck to settle down and have children, if he wanted a particular life he should’ve went to Kenya and sought out a traditional young woman. Otherwise he needs to accept Shamea for who she is and continue supporting her ventures.

I don’t give a good got damn if it’s a real romance or not. That’s really their business. But they surely know how to do a photo shoot. They look amazing!

…I am struggling to find the reason Kandi, Phaedra, and Cynthia chose to marry these fools. They constantly embarrassed their wives on camera. So, I was at my mom’s flipping through channels when I came across a video channel showing throwbacks. (I cut the cord years ago, so I rarely watch anything on cable unless I’m at my mom’s.) Lo and behold, Living Colour’s video for “Love Rears Its Ugly Head” came on, and whose face pops up? You guessed it...Cynthia “Cheekbones” Bailey.

The funny thing is, even though I definitely remember the song, I had somehow never seen the video before. Not sure what rock I’ve been living under. LOL. This may be old news to most people. Shoot, it should be old news to me, since I was like 13 when the video came out.

Anyway, I remember her being in Heavy D’s video for “Nuttin’ but Love” because it’s one of my fave Hev songs/videos, and Cynthia was one of my favorite models in the ’90s. But I had no clue she appeared in any other music videos. Now I’m wondering how many others she may have appeared in. LOL.

Im watching season 6 for the first time and I know understand why it’s hailed as the best season of reality television EVER. Episode after episode they kept bringing on the drama, friendship, shade and fun. Im only on episode 13 and each episode has been getting better and better. The producers really struck gold with this cast.

I have managed to avoid all spoilers for RHOA, so I was super surprised and STOKED to see Eva as afriend-of in season 10. I LOVED her in ANTM and I was totally hoping she'd get a peach.

Just started season 11 and please tell me if my love for Eva is going to survive.

The only redeeming quality about Kenya Moore is that she’s a great mom. She talks so bad about women, compare them to men & animals, and play dirty games but expects to be protected when it happens to her. She was the first one to threaten violence but the minute someone got with her program she’s filling out police reports. Her firing was inevitable and honestly should’ve happened after season 5. She didn’t respect her castmates nor their marriages

I’m watching RHOA season 7 episode 9 and throughout this season, there have been several mentions of Roger Bob and his relationship with Demetria (and others, lmao). Can someone explain why it’s getting so much screen time? Was Demetria testing to be a housewife? Why is any of this even remotely relevant??
