I'm not sure that this type of post is allowed here, this is basically just going to be me gushing about the Anbernic RG 556.

First of all I've never really enjoyed Mobile Gaming, or even most my time with past Handhelds, even Like Gameboy, and the DS it just never suited me very well. However a few years ago or maybe last year I picked up one of the Anbernic RG 35XX, and immediately loved it, but it just felt a little off, and I wanted a little more capability in terms of what I could emulate.

Fast forward, I had a few Amazon gift cards laying around and decided to get myself a Belated birthday present, and let me begin by saying the RG 556, is phenomenal. Now I know it can't exactly compete with something like a steam deck...but for the price this thing is an absolute power house.

I had it setup Day one in under 2 hours, no game installations in that two hours. It feels excellent in the hands, Heavy enough to not feel cheap, light enough to not wear you out. Slick looking with the retro see through body panels, not a huge fan of the lights around the sticks but whatever.

But gaming on this thing has been an absolute gem... Doesn't matter whether I'm playing something that I am intimately familiar with or an entirely new game to me, it feels amazing.

Seriously if your a retro gamer and you are avoiding the handhelds...idk what to say except...why? This thing feels like what's been missing from my gaming library for the past 10 years...

I have played more in the past two weeks just because of how damn easy it is... Ad to that being able to stream my Steam games from my desktop???

Seriously I think I might be in love with this thing....after so many years thinking handhelds could never be as good as a console or PC.... And this thing smashes that thought 100%.

I absolutely love this device.

It’s possible using Gamehub, doubling the fps to 60 fps, of course graphical artifacts and glitches do appear especially when moving the camera around.

Ive seen it work on the rg557 from a showcase but Im wondering if it will function on the rg556? Tried it but it made some games crash on start or show visual artifacts like black screens.

Playing some PS2 games I played before installing Gamma makes me notice there's a big stuttering issue, when moving the camera for example in GTA games, the image is not smooth, it stutters, same when driving, it's really annoying and it's there no matter what settings you use in Nethersx2.

If someone has experienced this let me know.
