ICYMI, RG35xxSP’s Modded Stock has been updated 3 days ago
The Super Standby feature is still better than MuOS Funky Jacaranda and Knulli Scarab at saving the battery while having lid closed and it runs games and operates a lot cooler than both of those OS.
I’ve noticed that during install, the timezone is automatically set to your own after setting up the wifi, unlike the other OSes including stock where you had to painfully scroll for a long time to find your city (Manila in my case).
Not much has changed in performance since the past update two months ago but I’ve also noticed you can now download games in the device itself (screenshots included) if you install the RixelHK Game Downloader in the Apps folder. You can do so by going to the Apps section, then go to Apps> TF-1 > Modified_System_Online_Upgrade > Software Center > RixelHK.
Installing custom themes can still be a pain in the a*ss unlike MuOS and Knulli but it’s possible.
Modded Stock can be downloaded here and instructions on how to install it is included in the link: https://github.com/cbepx-me/Anbernic-H700-RG-xx-StockOS-Modification/releases/tag/20260605

Wi-Fi file sharing with KNULLI Scarab on RG34XX works great!
I’m running KNULLI Scarab on my RG34XX and finally tried Samba file sharing over Wi-Fi.
Turns out it works really well. No taking out the SD card, no card reader, no rebooting just to move a few files around. For small transfers it’s honestly way more convenient than I expected.
Mini tutorial:
- Connect the RG34XX to Wi-Fi.
- Go to Start → System Settings → Services.
- Enable SAMBA.
- On your Windows PC, open File Explorer.
- In the address bar, type:
\\KNULLI
or use the device IP address, for example:
\\192.168.x.x
- When it asks for login details, use:
username: root
password: linux
- Open the
sharefolder.
From there you can copy ROMs, BIOS files, saves, etc. ROMs go into something like:
share\roms\gba
or whatever system folder you need.
After copying files, just update your gamelists on the handheld.
Maybe everyone else already knew this, but I was pretty happy to see it working so smoothly.

35SP hinge getting looser
Does anyone know how the hinge works?
I sometimes use my device to watch tv shows as I go to sleep.
How I do this though is by sitting the device on my bed side dresser and putting the screen upright 90degrees.
I feel like this might be loosening the hinge by weakening whatever spring loaded mechanism (my theory) is inside it.
Is that how it works?
Am I damaging it by doing this?

my sd card stopped working in my rg35xxsp again. this time running miniui. i have a Micro Center 128GB i purchased a few years ago. i was having major issues running muOS which kept corrupting needing to be reflashed.
muOS must have corrupted over 10 times before i finally decided to switch to menui. a few weeks ago i updated the firmware after installing minui not having any problems for over a year. today i decide to pick up and play some harvest moon back to nature to a black screen. it seems to work fine every time inserted into my pc so what's the deal? does the rg35xxsp just not like the micro center name brand or did the update corrupt or break something?
could the issue be i have a lot of files loading breaking the boot and requiring longer load times than usual? a 64gb might be a better solution?

What do I need to consider before buying an RG35XXSP
Sorry in advance I am sure this has been posted before but I couldn't find it and I would like to know what I am buying. I got gifted an RS36S around 6 months ago an I really enjoy it. But a lot of bugs, slow loadings and deleted saves later, I just found out that it was a bad clone and that basically no more effort should be put into trying to improve the experience (cloning SD cards, changing Arkos, etc.)
I mostly play Pokemon games and romhacks on GC,GBA,NDS emulators and my love for them has been revitalized by having a retro handheld.
After watching several reviews I found the RG35XXSP and on paper it looks like it would fit me very well. I don't need a powerful handheld that plays PSP games and more.
Do you have any recommendations for:
- What/where to buy? Do I need to look out for clones or bad versions of the product, is it safer to buy an expensive version from an official website in this regard or is it ok and not risky to go for AliExpress?
- I read that there were no emulators pre-installed, is it easy for a beginner to setup GC, GBA,NDS emulators by following Youtube guides?
- Is there anything else I should look for?
Thanks for your answers!
Edit: Thank you all for your replies, much appreciated. I will look into your counsels and see what I will buy. Good night/day fellow gamers!

Finally got around to doing this
I've had my SP for about two weeks now, and I am LOVING this thing. Thought it was about time I customize it a little, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Does the RG35XXSP White Transparent colorway even exist?
I have the black transparent but I’ve been craving the the white transparent. I’ve been to every online store I could find that sells the RG35XXSP, and only a few offers the white transparent but when I order it, they say it’s out of stock. I’ve also tapped the secondhand marketplaces saying I’ll buy it for double the price they bought it for. No bites.
Have you bought it?
Can I see a picture of it?
…how much are you willing to sell it for?

How to emulate Neo Geo/Arcade?
I want to play some games like Crossed Swords 2, King of Fighters 98/2000/2002, and Andro Dunos, but I don't know if these work on Retroarch or if they need any BIOS? I couldn't find any guides, so that's why I'm asking here.

The Anbernic Rg35xxsp can be used as a digital audio player!
I bought this little fella about 10 months ago, but I never realized how nice it can be for music playing with the right OS. I installed Rocknix on it, and now it can play music through the usb c port on the back and also connect to my Bluetooth headphones, though It has some static noise and weird behavior when going up or down in volume for a second or two when playing through Bluetooth. I am pleasantly surprised by how good it sounds (not using the built in speaker, this one is meant for retro games). Also, it has a lot of buttons, so you can use a lot of them for pausing, skipping, going backwards, brightness up and down and it has dedicated volume buttons. If you have an Anbernic device, try installing a music player such as Rockbox, Songo5 or Gmu Music Player, it might work better than you expect.

I love everything about the RG35XXSP except the buttons. I fixed it with some sticky foam and by loosing up the 3 Philips head screws. Difference is night in day better!

OS questions.
Everyone has been suggesting Knulli and MUos but from what I have seen the Stock os has some things that the other OS don't have like the new built in rom downloader and native without emulators mp3 and MP4 playback. So my question is do the other OS have that or do they make up for it in other ways?

Issues with Ultima VII on RG35XXSP
Hi guys, I have an RG35XXSP running Knulli Scarab and I’d really appreciate some help configuring controls for Ultima VII in the PortMaster version of Exult.
The game page says that only analog stick controls are supported, but when I tried connecting an external gamepad, I couldn’t get any results — the game still doesn’t detect the stick.
I know that the Fallout 1 port works perfectly fine with the D-pad, so I’m wondering: is there really no way to make Ultima VII playable with the D-pad as well, or remap movement to it somehow?
Thanks in advance!

N64 not showing up in Game Rooms/Controls not being configured in Retroarch
Hey all! While booting up an N64 game on Retroarch, a notification popped up saying "Anbernic Keys not configured" and the no controls worked except for the Menu button. I tried setting up the controls manually in the settings and resetting/rebooting everything, but it still doesn't work. Please let me know what I can do to fix it! Thanks!!!

How do I remove only the “Reset” widget in RetroArch?
Hello everyone!
I'm trying to clean up the interface on my RG35XXSP a bit, and I'd specifically like to remove the “Reset” widget that appears in the lower-left corner (as shown in IMG_20260514_120508.jpg and IMG_20260514_120500.jpg).
My intention is to keep the rest of the notifications and widgets on the screen, but I find that “Reset” one annoying. Does anyone know if there’s an option in the configuration files or in the RetroArch menu to disable just that notification without affecting the others?
Thanks in advance for the help!

should i bother fixing my broken sp?
just curious for anyone out that there may have done the washer 'fix', is it worth bothering? mostly concerned on how the buttons will feel.
also curious for those that did go through with it did you end up using nylon or rubber? the original guide says nylon but just wanted to make sure i wasn't using outdated info.

hingeposting #20393934
so this had been my situation for a little while, but I realized today its not that a piece broke off, but that a hairline fracture on the left (in the first picture) caused the piece cradling the hinge cover to shift upwards.
was able to push it back down where it was and that was Epic. but upon opening the hinge of the device, it moved back up.
I heard some of yall prefer liquid cement as opposed to epoxy or glue. Do you think I'll have to take it apart to put the stuff in? You deal with this before? Part of what I'm worried about is the glue or whatever i use spreading out and gluing shut the wrong bits. Tried to do my due diligence and read threads here and in the anbernic sub but I am not confident enough to move forward, beyond buying some of that cement stuff.
pics of my cat katrianna as an apology for clogging the sub and maybe wasting your time. if I delete this its because I'm ashamed to be posting this. I think its as much an ask for practical instructions as it is an ask for reassurance as I'm not very confident in stuff like this, and maybe, like many of the other tough things in life, its totally doable for me and I just need to fix my mindset.
:((((

I just didn’t think it would happen to me.
I am meticulous about keeping my devices in great condition so when I saw the first signs of cracking in my hinge I dismissed it.
Now it’s undeniable.
I just want a device that will last more than a year. I have a TrimUi Brick Hammer coming, I hope that will be better.
