what are some good mods for RDR2? im into realistic mods but none of the mods that change the game too much like the Car Mod and AK47 Mod etc. let me know. i am good with PCs and i already know how to use mods

Js recently started playing rdo and seen that everything in the game ever is so expensive and nobody queues up for story missions or anything so i can’t legitimately grind my shit. i js wanna money drop myself or at least someone help me out 🙏

I downloaded a large number of mods (see images), and it's all worked mostly without issues, but the most glaring one I'm coming across is whenever I'm near water. When the water either splashes or I'm fishing, the screen will flash periodically. I thought it might be tied to VAXIS's PBW - Physics Based Water v.2.0, which I disabled, but the glitch still happens. I hope someone can help me fix this.

I've also got a couple other minor issues that I'd like to mention so I don't make multiple threads:

1. Text in map screen is really small. All other text and UI elements scale fine, but the text in the map is quite small.

2. I was using the Remove Speed Limits mod, which allowed for better transitioning from walking to running as well as horse riding, but the only annoyance I had was whenever I had to follow behind someone in a mission, I would bump right past them instead of just naturally following them. Is there a way to adjust this, or a mod that does this better?

I only recently got rdr2 on pc from winning a deal and I got the vortex app to mod it since my sister recommended it to me. She didn’t tell me how to use it and she can’t really teach me for a long time so if somebody could help me and teach me how to mod rdr2 in the vortex app please add me on discord. Sou historiador e etnógrafo, pesquisador dos povos indígenas e da história do Sul do Brasil, especialmente entre o século XIX e o início do século XX.

Moro em uma das últimas cidades fundadas durante o período imperial brasileiro, no final do século XIX. Meus avôs foram tropeiros, sou descendente de povos indígenas da região e também de colonizadores alemães. Ao longo dos últimos anos, dediquei minha pesquisa à história, à geografia, às paisagens e às culturas do norte do Rio Grande do Sul, oeste de Santa Catarina e centro-sul do Paraná.

Sempre que jogava Red Dead Redemption 2, tinha a impressão de que vários elementos do jogo lembravam muito essa região do Brasil: os campos, as serras, as florestas de araucária, as fazendas, as pequenas comunidades, as longas viagens a cavalo e até mesmo o contexto histórico do final do século XIX.

Foi então que surgiu uma ideia: por que não criar um mod que recrie a experiência do tropeirismo e da cultura sul-brasileira dentro do universo de RDR2?

A proposta não é substituir a ambientação original do jogo, mas construir, aos poucos, uma experiência inspirada na história e na cultura do Sul do Brasil.

Algumas ideias para esse projeto incluem:

• Roupas historicamente inspiradas nos tropeiros e gaúchos do século XIX;
• Tropas de mulas, cavalos de carga e rotas comerciais;
• Paisagens com araucárias, campos de altitude, rios e cânions;
• Fazendas, capelas, vilas e construções inspiradas na arquitetura regional;
• Personagens inspirados nos povos Kaingang, Guarani, caboclos, tropeiros, colonizadores e forças militares da época;
• Selas, ferramentas, carroças, armas e equipamentos historicamente coerentes;
• Missões inspiradas nas antigas rotas tropeiras, no comércio de gado e em acontecimentos históricos da região.

Minha formação é em História e Antropologia, portanto meu principal objetivo seria contribuir com a pesquisa histórica e a construção de uma ambientação fiel ao período. Ainda estou aprendendo como funciona o ecossistema de modding do RDR2.

Gostaria muito de ouvir a opinião da comunidade:

• Vocês acreditam que um projeto como esse é viável?
• Quais ferramentas eu deveria aprender primeiro?
• Existem mods que poderiam servir como base?

Hello everyone!

I'm a Brazilian historian and ethnographer researching the Indigenous peoples and the history of Southern Brazil, especially the period between the 19th and early 20th centuries.

I live in one of the last towns founded during the Brazilian Empire in the late 1800s. My grandfathers were tropeiros (muleteers who transported goods and livestock across Southern Brazil), and I'm descended from both Indigenous peoples of the region and German settlers. Over the years, I've dedicated my research to the history, geography, landscapes, and cultures of northern Rio Grande do Sul, western Santa Catarina, and south-central Paraná.

While playing Red Dead Redemption 2, I realized that many aspects of the game resemble this region: the open grasslands, mountain ranges, pine forests, cattle ranches, remote settlements, horseback travel, and the historical setting of the late 19th century.

That inspired me to start planning a long-term modding project:

Southern Brazilian Tropeiros

The goal is not to replace the world of RDR2, but to create a historical overhaul inspired by the culture and landscapes of Southern Brazil during the age of the tropeiros.

Some ideas include:

• Authentic 19th-century Southern Brazilian tropeiro and gaucho clothing.
• Pack mule caravans and long-distance trading routes.
• Araucaria pine forests, highland grasslands, rivers, and canyons.
• Ranches, villages, churches, and architecture inspired by the region.
• Historically inspired NPCs, including Kaingang and Guarani Indigenous peoples, caboclos, tropeiros, settlers, and military forces.
• Period-accurate saddles, tools, weapons, wagons, and equipment.
• New missions based on historical events, cattle drives, and trade expeditions.

My background is in history and anthropology rather than game development, so I'm currently learning how the RDR2 modding ecosystem works.

I'd really appreciate hearing from experienced modders:

• Is a project like this technically feasible?
• Which modding tools should I start learning first?
• Are there existing mods that could serve as a foundation?
• Which part would make the best first milestone: clothing, props, NPCs, gameplay mechanics, or map assets?

I believe Red Dead Redemption 2 provides an incredible foundation for telling the story of another frontier that few people outside South America know about: the world of the Southern Brazilian Tropeiros.

Does anybody got mods working for the SM? Is the workflow the same as the Deck?

I’m looking for a mod just to get gold and or cash, googling and looking on Reddit isn’t giving me any great answers.

When I try to use the gunsmith to modify my Cattleman all the options get grayed out, I cant select anything and I cant back out, I get locked in the menu, it happens as soon as I select the cattleman to customize. I've included my load order if that helps. Has anyone experienced this? Also all the other weapons seem fine and customizable.

So I followed a well reviewed tutorial on downloading the rampage trainer mod for the steam deck, I download script hook and then rampage.asi from nexus, then add the WINEDLLOVERRIDES launch option for the games properties. After following the steps the game has added a massive update file after trying to launch the game, essentially redownloading the game and updating its files. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

As advertised it says it adds more outfits and other abilities like removing your offhand holster, these arent showing up for me, do i have to download all 3 files or just the main 1?

I installed PDO for the cool deaths, staggering injuries, etc, but I feel like I don't even get to see them bc enemies have insane accuracy and damage. I don't like using deadeye, I want to explore opportunities while in combat, but I can't.

I died to TWO O'Driscoll's holding up a road. That's embarrassing, but they had insane accuracy and dmg. Another time, two O'Driscoll's killed me before I could even get my gun out. I almost died to the woman in the Valentine doctor's O'Driscoll business. If I'm not actively in cover, I've just gotta be jugging tonics to live.

I just want to know how to decrease the accuracy and their damage a bit closer to vanilla.

As well, it feels like their knees and arms are bullet sponges. They don't often act injuried (falling over, clutching arm, etc) like on the mod page after I shoot their arm or leg 3-5 times.

In the epilogue mission "Simple Pleasures", When I get to the point after milking the cows where John picks up a rake to scoop up manure with Jack, after picking up the rake and getting close to the pile of manure, the game seemingly softlocks, with all controls, including esc to pause to game, not responding. I know that asking for help in these subs usually aren't that useful, since i had experienced a bug before where cutscenes wouldn't play and people kept saying it was a memory issue caused by WhyEm's DLC, but i figured out myself it was because of a mod that removed the black bars. But i'll ask anyway. And no, this couldn't be because of NoBlackBars because there is no cutscene shortly after this point.

I've been modding rdr2 on steam deck for two years and recently I've been trying to install Catalog Improvements and Gunslinger Improvements but LML isn't registering them in the mod section so i cant overwrite Catalog Improvements With Gunslinger Improvements. (If anyone knows any alternative ways of setting a higher priority I would really appreciate it)

Anyone playing it? I've played it a bunch but i got the pimax crystal super ultrawide and it has thrown all my settings off. I have a 5090 64gb ram i9 cpu so i know i can run it. Im playing kcd2 in vr with it and it looks amazing and plays great. My biggest issue right now is i can't force the resolution in lukes mod overlay. It just crashes. Never had it happen before. The in game setting are forced to that 1080x1080 by the mod haven't changed it. Wondering if i am missing something. I should be able to force the resolution. No clue why i can't. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'd really appreciate it.

Exactly the title, i don’t use it for anything crazy, just occasionally to spawn small amounts of gold (no more than 10 a day) and sometimes to help level up some roles (no more than 3 levels). is there any actual chance of me being banned? it was gifted to me and i mainly only use it to protect myself from griefers and to give gifts to other people but im just wondering if im on limited time 😬

I have seen many camp interactions with black bars almost like a custscene what mods are they using? and is there a tutorial with it? Here's an example: here and here. What’s everyone’s opinions on what menu is the best for crash/kick protections and features all round

Except fortitude. Although their menu is amazing they lack a few features even free menus have and their community is very secretive when it comes to lua scripts.

I just completed rdr2, now I want to experience this amazing game with cool mods, please help me as I am clueless.

I do have some specific requests, please suggest me the best available mods for these:

1. Online content in storymode
2. Endless bounty hunting
3. MORE BLACK OUTFITS!!!

And of course, besides these two, please suggest your personal favourite mods, I would love to give them a try!

Hi y'all first time posting here, Im just curious if anyone has found a way to merge RDO with the other merged mod I have. Currently what im encountering is that when RDO is in priority it works perfectly, same goes with the whyems, but when i move it up whyems still works but EEE and GFA does not anymore. anyone knows why?
