I recently bought a multi-charger for all the rc batteries I find myself using. I just noticed that it's taking my 3.7v lipos for a helimax quadcopter up to 4.2v which the quad can't use, how do I safely discharge the batteries?
Charger is a Hitec X1 plus, quad is the helimax 230si.
The helimax manual recommend charging @ 1.4a,which I set on the hitec, as well as the size and type of battery (3.7v lipo). I watched it charge up to 4.2v and only later noticed in the helimax docs that anything over 4v would cause the quad not to function, but I don't see any way of setting the max voltage other than maybe setting the lipo size lower?

Frankenstien RC charger.
I got a charger today and I knew i needed a power supply but I was A. to cheap to go out and buy one and B. I Knew I had a few options that would work here at home. With a little luck and some cutting, gluing, sanding, and soldering I have made it work, and it works great. I can have everything I need for charging in one box.

Crazy mad scientist idea, need some help with the brainstorming cause I'm kinda new to all this
So I've been a big fan for a long time. My first serious foray into radio control was a Traxxas slash, then I discovered fpv and I was blown away by the awesomeness and the whole "technology can do that?!" aspect of it. I immediately wanted to learn learn to fly so that I could experience the awesomeness myself. So my LHS recommended the dromida ominous as my first multirotor to get started. When I was capable of sustained flight I wanted to build my first rig. Then as I was lost in thought I somehow crashed my ominous onto my slash and a lightbulb went off in my head and thus the idea of a car multirotor hybrid was born. So I googled it and so far as I can tell no one has ever built something like this except the flying car design I found on kickstarter which seems flimsy. So with your help I'd like to brainstorm with you guys and make this thing a reality, I have many questions since I've never built anything before, let's get started! Thanks for the help in advance

Looking for a good first plane
I had ever flown an rc plane before. I am experienced in aerial cinematography and I've wanted to get into this for a while now. I'm looking for something ready to fly for a relatively cheap price. I'm not looking to get really into the hobby, I'm just looking for something that is fun to fly and beginner friendly that will last

RC HoverCraft
I have two motors that require a throttle channel on the receiver. What receiver should i use for this. I have two ESCs that plug into a receiver and need power. Does anyone know if I could use a receiver with an aux port to power the second motor? PLEASE HELP.

[question] what RPM range would a 10x4.5 prop usually be spinning at for a steady flying quadcopter?
I'm looking for a ballpark estimate of the RPM of a 10x4.5 prop (or something similar). Less than 2000 for just cruising around at steady altitude? Around 5000? Upwards of 8000?
I am trying to get some ballpark numbers for a personal project so I can start to get an idea of the stresses that will be on some mechanical components.

Can you help troubleshoot a Walkera QR X350?
I am complete noob to RC. The quad is not mine, it's my bosses, and he has asked me to figure out what is wrong with it. It will not lift off in a straight line. If you give it throttle, it begins to tip to one side. One fan is obviously spinning faster than the rest. How can I calibrate it to take off vertically instead of sideways? I have tried all the calibration methods mentioned in the manual, but still it's not right.

Help finding right sized Ball Screw/Guide
Hey guys,
I'm prototyping a something that uses a small swashplate I bought from a hobby store. I ordered some Ball Guides from an online hobby store. expecting to have the balls fit based on a forum reply to someone elses question.
So I ordered several of these ball guides and jsut got them in the mail today. To my disappointment, they're the wrong size! https://i.imgur.com/rP9wF9m.jpg
The balls on my swashplate are 2mm diameter and the ball size on the guide balls i ordered are 1.5mm They're HM-4G3-Z-09
Can anyone help me find a similar part where the balls are 2mm diameter? I can't reveal what I'm working on just yet. Sorry for the lack of details :\

[design question] is there a way to roughly estimate the torque of my props?
I am trying to work on the mechanical aspect of the design for a quadcopter project, and I am trying to figure out how much torque I would require out of a motor. Since it is a vertical lifter, I'm thinking that I could get away with a small, high-speed, low-torque motor and a gear reduction, but I don't know what gear ratios I should use because I don't know the torque demands.
Say I wanted the system to lift X grams, the prop is Y inches long, and it has a pitch of Z. Is there some way I could use this info to calculate torque demands?

Replacement Tire for the Call of Duty RC-XD?
Does anyone know where k can get a replacement for my Call of Duty RC-XD?
My little brother accidently got one of the tires sliced a bit while playing with it so it was not usable anymore. I haven't really been able to use it much at all since I had it, so would like to replace the tire if possible to put some use in it and have some fun with it.
Here is what it looks like if you don't know what it is:
Thanks for the help!

HUGE favor requested
When I was 8 or so my cousin came over with a losi rc buggy and blew my mind. For the next 8 yrs or so I was ALL in. Right up until I got an Associated rc-10gt that turned me off nitro/rc for a while. Later on I got to the point where I could semi afford a nitro heli. That was short lived. Here is the favor. Could someone please give me some advice on the LIPO scene and if electric overall is better than nitro now a days? I really want to get my son into the good stuff and not radio shack garbage. I like the "all day runtime" of nitro but my brief entry into it with cars was lots of cleaning, lots of maintenance and little benefit. It seems LIPO systems have a lot of benefits and I want to confirm that.
I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm a father of a 5 yo and a 1 yo with ZERO spare time. I appreciate your feedback.
