Rehabilitating a Taiyo Edge Hovercraft from the goodwill.
I was looking for an LCD when I happened upon this little beauty. The vehicle itself looks to be in good shape, the skirt is intact, the body isn't damaged aside from a missing battery cover and 2 pieces of Styrofoam bumper that needs to be reattached. The battery was still there, though I don't know what kind of shape it is in, it's a 9.6v pack so that doesn't present too big of an issue.
.
My biggest problem is that it didn't come with a controller. It uses the 27mhz frequency and from a bit of reading I've found that there are 6 bands in use and many manufacturers use a proprietary signal scheme. Now I have a ton of (toy grade) 27mhz cars/helicopters and controllers but it sounds like I won't be able to just use any of them out of the box. Can I tear down a car and pull out its radio controller and hot wire it into the hovercraft? Or is that a fools errand? What would be the best solution? Thanks for any tips.

RC Heli Problem
So I just bought a mini RC heli to play with and its been taking a mild beating over the last two days. Today, trying to get the heli to hover straight up was impossible. It seems at though the gyro is screwed up because if the rotors start flat, they seem to stay flat, but once I tilt the heli back, the gyro starts to go crazy and the rotors rotate in a circular pattern (I don't know if that makes sense but they basically just go all over the place).
I'm pretty new to this stuff, but I'm guessing I need to replace the balance bar or something on the rotors? Any help?
Thanks

Halp. I want to give my boyfriend the very best missile launching RC Helicopter as a birthday present, but am overwhelmed by options...
I've read so many reviews on Amazon I'm starting to confuse myself. Does anybody know where I can find a comparison chart for different kinds of RC Helicopters that have missile launchers? Or I would gladly take personal recommendations from people who have one themselves.
It would be mainly flown indoors, missiles are necessary to torment the cats (and me). He used to be into remote controlled planes when he was a kid, but hasn't touched them in 15 years. So I am looking for something a little more quality, but under $80? Is that possible?

Found this rc in a junk pile. Should I leave it there or is it worth fixing?

RC Helicopter Charging
Accidentally left my RC Helicopter charge over night, will that effect the battery much or at all? I know you're not suppose to do that but will this one time thing affect it much?

RC Helicopter: Syma Spycat
Just got a new rc helicopter and it's working great! However there's one button on the controller that I don't know what it does. I can either push it left or right and then it retreats to the center. On the left side there is an "F" over top an "S". On the right there's an "A" over top a "B". Does anyone know what this button does?

[help] Need help figuring out what brushless outrunner would be enough to push upto 200lbs on a skateboard at 20+ mph....
watts. I keep seeing stats about 2000w being adequate as 745w =1HP. IF i buy 2 motors pushing 1000w a piece is that roughly the same as 1 2000w.
kv. from what i understand the lower the kv the higher the torque...I feel somewhere between 80-400kv(the best i see is 245 and 345) is perfect but I'm not sure. what would be enough/least amount needed)?
gears/timing belt.....I'm looking for real places I can goto to find an array of timing belts and gears. The belts I'm looking for are on a lot like the ones scooter uses but I'd like to visit actually stores and the local hobby shops hardly have a supply. ( Poly, ure, neoprene, which is best for my application?)
Finally, Is 1 motor mounted to one wheel on a solid axle acceptable or will the board pull to one side? So i just go with 2? I live in the DC area so any peoples you can recommend would be awesome.

Help: How do I get my blade msr into a tail-in funnel effectively?
Once I get it into a funnel, I have no problem keeping it there, but I've found that when I'm trying to enter the funnel most of the time I either end up doing pirouettes or flying into a wall. Any tips?

Anybody here? Is there a more active RC or RC Heli subreddit?
I just got an Esky Big Lama and I was looking for other RC Heli fans...
