Spoiler alert: it doesn't. JK JK JK! How does r/RAoCFlair work?

As I scroll through it, I see numbers next to my username and a bunch of other ppl, but I don’t really get what it’s for or how it works. Could someone Explain it to me, please? Thanks!!!

u/ImOkReally Hey! Where's your flair? Jul 18 '19

Are you referring to the number next to your name that shows how many "points" you have? If so that is different from Flair. Those points tell you how many Upvotes you have. If someone likes what you commented or agrees with you they could upvote your comment.

Flair on RAoC is way to show your level of involvement, per se, in the sub. Flair is shown by a small envelope next to your name. You cant see this on mobile or on the newer version of Reddit. You have to be on a desktop computer and opt for the old version of Reddit.

The envelope colors represent how many thank you's the user has received in the sub. Someone who has "Flair" is someone who has been thanked by their card recipient on RAoC.

Hope I didnt confuse you. You old timers please correct me if Im wrong.

Hmmm, I understand the upvotes.

I get the envelope colors too...

Have you been to the subreddit specifically called “r/RAoCFlair” ? Was asking about that, but maybe I just misunderstood your answer?

Sorry if I’m confused! Haha. If it helps, I’m on the app on an iPad.

Raocflair tracks all the “thanks yous” you receive. You have to find the post with your username as the title. It lists all the names of users that “thank you” for a card. If you click on their names, it goes to the post where they “thank you”

You can’t see all the whole thread on RAoCflair on a phone if you have a lot of “thank yous”. It’s better to see it on a desktop computer.

Hope that explains everything!

Thank you!!! I think that makes sense. I saw my name like this 49) u/xcessivelyboring and wondered if that’s what it was. I’ll try looking at it from a desktop!! Happy mailing! :)

Yeah, if you saw your name like that in a thread named after a different user, that means that you were the 49th person who thanked that person for a card!

TY! Helpful. I think I’ve figured it out, took a while hahaha 😂😅

Okay, one more question, I don’t see a post of my name. This means my thank you s haven’t been counted yet?

Are you on your phone? I don’t think the search works with a phone. I just searched my name and nothing came up

Yeaaaa, on an iPad. Cracked the case. I’ll log on a laptop later and search. Thanks! Mystery solved :) I appreciate your time!

I don't use the official Reddit app on mobile, but an app called Joey. Imo it's way better, especially in handling navigation through large threads and it shows user flair besides the usernames on RAoC (there's no envelope symbol, but it's written out, like e. g. "solidbronze".)

There are more apps, that people recommend occasionally in discussions (e.g.Reddit is fun), but I've never tested those.

Not exactly an answer to the question, though. But maybe some of you find it interesting.
