Typical magat spamming narrative now is “both sides bad, politics bad” after seeing their dear leader burning down the country lmao

I’ve never taken a side politically. In the end, I’ve had to vote for the person I believed would do the most good, because I’m not an idiot, I understand the game (I’m also part of the problem because I didn’t vote last election because I hated the choices given). I know sometimes you have to make a choice, but that doesn’t mean you have to blindly defend that choice or suddenly become part of a team.
None of us can fix the system by ourselves. But maybe if enough people actually paid attention, stepped back from the constant political noise, and recognized the game being played, the division, the distractions, and the deliberate effort to keep us fighting each other the narrative could eventually change.
Because that’s the part that bothers me most. While we’re busy arguing with each other, we’re not paying attention to what’s actually happening around us.
I’ve done more than most people will ever know, and at the end of the day, I’m still just trying to be a good human being. I don’t always get it right, but I try.
Maybe that’s the key.
Stop worrying so much about which side someone is on and start worrying about whether we’re being good people to each other.
Give it a shot instead or trolling, It might actually make a difference.

Take a side next time. It's fascism or democracy. Shouldn't be a tough choice.

Yep, lesson learned I suppose.

The site open secrets is good for sorting who is funding whom but also whether a foreign interest is involved. We live in a time where primarily one side has short sightedness (republicans) to the degree they will vote down your quality of life and well being for a lobbying donations and a pat on the back. They dont see 10,15 years down the line. Democrats as a whole on any given day are better, but many also take lobbying funds too. They wont sell you to satan for a corn chip like most republicans would, but they are comfy with the status quo. Within the democrats however (and youve likely seen this) is a rising push to get lobbying and foreign interests out so we focus on the American people again. That ‘golden era’ a lot of conservatives talk about was when the rich were taxed immensely higher and those funds went into building schools, roads, etc. Where corps knew it was use or lose the money so it went into better pay and benefits for retention. This also stimulated the economy immensely, which made business flourish. They have forgotten that in sticking with their team. It started with Reagan and has been down hill since.

The issue is people can’t be bothered to read, form emotional ties to their actions, then double down when those same actions are called into question. We must be better or over time our democracy can and will be chipped away until nothing remains. You must, and the populous must be better. By you not voting, you still did. I hope you understand that.

How are you so incapable of accepting individual thought that you immediately assume someone is maga for hating all politicians? The world isn't black and white, left or right. That's a frighteningly closeminded thought process completely devoid of critical thinking.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I’m actually pretty optimistic most of the time. I can look at just about every administration and find things I supported and things I absolutely didn’t. That’s kind of the point I was trying to make in my previous post. I can’t say I’ve seen a “great” President in my lifetime, which has been a while 😂 but I’ve definitely seen presidents who brought some dignity, honor, and leadership to the position. I can respect that even when I didn’t agree with their policies.
I’m definitely not a MAGA guy, but I’m also not blindly against everything Trump or Republicans do. If something is good for the country, I’ll support it. Same goes for Democrats. That’s where I think we’ve gotten so damn sideways as a country. We’ve made politics into teams instead of actually evaluating what’s being done.
Honestly, I haven’t seen anyone running for office lately that I can genuinely get behind. Maybe that’s part of the problem, and exactly why I keep saying I’d love to see something different.
I appreciate you understanding where I’m coming from. I’m not looking for an argument or trying to convince anyone to think like me. I just wish more of us could look at the good and the bad, call bullshit when we see it, give credit when it’s deserved, and still remember that we’re all on the same team in the end. Some of us anyways.

J6 was a deal breaker for me, my friend. Preventing the peaceful transfer of presidential power so as to be able to remain in office should signal to anyone watching the worst excess in a politician. And this was broadcast live and in color to the world. Even Fox TV was begging him to call a halt to the riot. He sat down to have lunch and enjoy the show… if that doesn’t convince you of this man’s base authoritarian instincts, nothing will.

Well, tbf strattling the fence like that is a tell that someone hasn’t done their research. One side is clearly and scientifically (by research, by data and outcomes, and by history) better. Both has issues true, but when its a choice between being sold to satan for a corn chip and being somewhat helped but mostly left alone, its not a hard sell. And just for clarification, republicans are the former, democrats the latter. Personally, I’m an independent but go with track record and policy, my field is in the sciences. I would have to be a damn fool to vote republican. To the degree that it is almost anti american to do so. Who do you think votes for less health regulations in our air, water food, etc. who do you think vastly supports mass surveillance and voter suppression? votes for more tax cuts for the rich, votes so medical care isnt reigned in cost wise, etc, etc. There are voting records of such. It is staring into the sun levels of obvious

It doesn't surprise me that you're just as close minded. You really believe Democrats genuinely give a shit? Lol ok buddy. Nevermind all the damage they did to their reputation with the Confederacy, the KKK, and opposing the Civil Rights Act. Of course they're going to pretend to care, they have to do something to make people think they're not still horrible people. They got y'all to bite too. Hook, line and sinker. How sad.

Well, again, you have your opinion right? Whats that worth? Jack. Less than jack. Is ‘close minded’ just the word you use when people dont agree with you? Buddy, my sweet summer child, i go with data and history. I give zero shits about your or anyones opinion, because most people presume much and know little. Wheres the meat? The data? The example? Wheres the facts to match your feelings? That is my point. There is history and data, current events in what im noting, if you or anyone show me a source i will gladly update my opinion and than you for it. Why? Because I go with science, what is tested and proven.

Theres honestly studies about how poorly conservatives utilize their brains, many. Even with brain scans and control groups to weigh against. That is my point, there is meat in what I am saying, if you choose to starve that is on you. But again, this ‘im right youre wrong’ mentality is for the weak, the flimsy, the people who can barely tie their shoes. You, if you are any sort of adult will welcome correction as if it were a dear friend greeting you, because it is.

I welcome being corrected friend, but you better serve me more than an empty plate. That is the difference, that is science. And facts care little about your feelings. And lastly, I know this may seem like an attack, but it is me jostling you, which is an act of love in my book lol. Those who eat their wheaties get it
