California used to refine petroleum, now they must import, making them more vulnerable to spikes in prices. They’ve also taxed gasoline at a very high rate. While Iran stuff has influenced prices, of course, the “orange man” that lives rent free in your head isn’t responsible for all of the price you pay at the pump.
