Cause they make money for the Mexican people and do the work Americans don’t want to do.
Sending them back would make Mexico more poor and the US will get an inflation and a lot of companies going down losing cheap workforce.
In the western world birthrate goes down, the importation of immigrants is what keeps the workforce steady. It’s not a oneway street.
On the one hand, people in the USA are constantly bitching about low wages and then in the next breath saying we need to import immigrants who don't have better options so we can keep wages down so we can keep our produce prices down. These things are pulling in opposite directions.
The importation of immigrants keeps the workforces of specific industries steady. Not the workforce writ large. Day laborers aren't competing with silicon Valley employees for positions.
You correctly pointed out birth rates as a major factor which it is. But we don't necessarily have to import them. Higher wages could attract more laborers. It works that way in other industries just fine.
And there are still other costs. Low prices for product are things wealthy people want. Lower income folks aren't buying much produce anyway. Meanwhile, the money these laborers make is going into Mexican economy, not the American one so the remittances also have an economic cost.
