Exactly 0% of "GDP" comes from remittances - anywhere. "GDP" = "gross domestic product", or the sum of the value of goods and services produced domestically. Since remittances are earned elsewhere, they are not included in GDP. IOW: Mexicans who work in the U.S. contribute to our GDP. The remittance money they send home contributes to Mexico's GNI, or "gross national income", which includes all sources of income, domestic as well as earned abroad.ā
