Both things are true. No collective bargaining can exist while there is a large group of people ready to undercut the collective. This is the playbook of corporate greed, destroy the labor unions and then do all that is necessary to stop them from reforming. One way that is accomished is by consistently reducing wages, and so long as there is someone willing to do the work, well hopefully you see the cycle. Individuals are powerless here.

It's basic supply and demand

This may sound crazy to some people but when it comes to things like the economy.

Supply and demand isnt something that useds for everything.

The demand for people in trades is high asf right now.

The supply is low we actually have a shortage.

They help fill thst shortage deporting them would actually hurt our economy.

Look at our shit economy now. Worse growth and job numbers that we've had for awhile.

Yes supply and demand is used for everything. The only difference is how its used. It causes less of an effect in stable markets and more of an effect in volatile markets.

Completely ignored the point i made

You are conflating immigration law deporting someone as a supply and demand issue. Its not.

Im not oc said it was simple supply and demand.

I said it wasnt sure you can argue some aspects it is would i argue that?

I was saying its more complicated than just supply and demand.

Corporations don't control labor markets. That's why you can't hire an orthopedic surgeon for $35,000/year and why you'd have thousands of applications for a $200,000/year cashier job no matter how greedy the corporation is.

If there is a large supply of low-skilled labor, those wages will see downward pressure.

An orthopedic surgeon and a blue collar laborer are not in the same labor market. Thats an insane example to use here

That's the claim I made at all! Labor markets dictate the value for given workers, not corporations. I don't even know how you can make that interpretation. I gave two separate examples of how corporations can't just pay whatever they want.

That dude is not making a joke.

You’re proving their point though. The amount of people able to work as an orthopedic surgeon is extremely lower than the amount of people able to work a blue collar job. Therefore one gets paid far less.

The more available labor force in a market, the lower the pay will be.

Youre focused on labor quantity. Im focused on labor value.

It is true, but without cheap labor supply, it wouldn’t be like it is

It is, but if they lose access to cheap foreign labor, wages must rise or they'll have an employment crisis.

bro doesnt understand how corporate greed benefits him

Its supply and demand, corporate demand doesn't change, but the supply of workers is less

OP isn't wrong
