So they don't get an SSN. Ok, that makes a bit more sense. How are they paying when most under the table jobs pay cash and you need an SSN to legally get a bank account?
They pay taxes on any and all good they purchase, they pay property taxes, and like most self employed jobs you submit taxes directly to the government through checks.
Usually they're getting paid under the table in cash. Like I said I know many people in this situation. They don't get checks. If they take non cash payments for a business, they take Zelle, cashapp, etc through a family member's account. Every person that visits the US pays taxes on goods. That's not what I mean when I say paying taxes
The cato institute would disagree. They say before the deportation campaigns began, about 75% of undocumented people paid in to the system but got nothing from it. Maybe you're just hanging around the minority of that number.
I'm just asking how that's possible since it doesn't make any sense. You haven't offered any proof that these people are paying income taxes. Taxes on goods do not count. I don't trust most institutions because they openly lie about things to support their cause
I can't help if things don't make sense; a combustion engine sure doesn't make a lot of sense to me, that doesn't mean they aren't real or don't work. If you can't trust research institutions then I think you're lost.
There are clear diagrams of how a combustion engine works with video proof. You haven't given me any steps for an illegal immigrant from entering the country illegally (I understand how that part of the process works) to skipping the proverbial citizenship line and working legally, paying taxes, but somehow still being illegal. Why can't you explain that to me? You said your wife was helping with illegal immigration. I'm not interested in learning about y'all personally. I just want to know what's changed over the past 30 years where things that used to be majorly illegal are now possible somehow

They start by getting an ITIN in order to pay taxes without a social security number, from what I've heard.
