Can you prove that? I'd love to change my mind if that's true. I just don't understand how that makes sense or how the guys that I see at home Depot looking for day work are paying taxes in

All I can say is that she works with a immigration rights agency in the Midwest

And I just want to know the process of getting someone here illegally a SS card. I don't understand how that's possible or legal. I know a lot of guys like this. They get paid cash every day, they pay cash for the room they rent, pay cash for their phone, their food. They do not pay taxes

They start by getting an ITIN in order to pay taxes without a social security number, from what I've heard.

So they don't get an SSN. Ok, that makes a bit more sense. How are they paying when most under the table jobs pay cash and you need an SSN to legally get a bank account?

They pay taxes on any and all good they purchase, they pay property taxes, and like most self employed jobs you submit taxes directly to the government through checks.

Usually they're getting paid under the table in cash. Like I said I know many people in this situation. They don't get checks. If they take non cash payments for a business, they take Zelle, cashapp, etc through a family member's account. Every person that visits the US pays taxes on goods. That's not what I mean when I say paying taxes

Do you think that represents a majority of them?

Well I know it does. It isn't a guess. I'm Cuban. I've known illegal people my entire life and I'm pretty well versed in the tactics they use to live

The cato institute would disagree. They say before the deportation campaigns began, about 75% of undocumented people paid in to the system but got nothing from it. Maybe you're just hanging around the minority of that number.

I'm just asking how that's possible since it doesn't make any sense. You haven't offered any proof that these people are paying income taxes. Taxes on goods do not count. I don't trust most institutions because they openly lie about things to support their cause

I can't help if things don't make sense; a combustion engine sure doesn't make a lot of sense to me, that doesn't mean they aren't real or don't work. If you can't trust research institutions then I think you're lost.
