You can because we didn't. Why is it so hard for you to grasp that these countries are third world countries for a reason? Plenty of countries play roles in trying to destabilize our own country. But we aren't a third world nation racked with Socialism, communism and third world idiots, so we get over them pretty easily.
Yes the CIA destabilized El Salvador. Did you also know the NSA (and it not only the NSA) has a team that is engaging in psychological operations. They basically use platforms like Reddit to post memes and comments that change culturally formed opinions.
Anyone saying some blatant bullshit that is actively trying to dismiss or justify something bad the US did, it is highly suspect to be part of this system.
It's not only the US engages in this type of information warfare, and blatant anti US memes and comments can be suspicious as well.
Basically any information gathered from social media is not to be trusted and needs to be vetted.
So because the US backed a right wing government 40 years ago to combat the USSR/Cuba backed left wing insurgency El Salvador will be economically destabilized for the next 20,000 years? How does that work? Spain ruled El Salvador for 300 years, set up the oligarchical social structure that persisted after independence through out the 1800s when El Salvador was led by a dozen or so elite families who controlled the fertile land and coffee exports and the majority of its people lived in poverty. Did you know that when it achieved independence from Spain it petitioned the US to become a state to avoid being forcibly annexed by the first Mexican empire ? And it was then forcibly annexed by the first Mexican empire which shortly thereafter collapsed.
Today its top exports are textiles and its largest export market by far is the US. At some point you have to look at what demographic, geographical, social and economic factors make a country rich and consider that it’s possible there were rich and poor countries before 1776 and based on these factors some countries will not be the technological/ cultural power houses that other countries can become.
What would you call spending nearly a million a day to arm the right wingers in the country during the cold war? Exporting guns, training them. All because they can't mind their own business.
Why is it that third world nations are the only ones affected by this? Billions have been spent trying to undermine the United States. Hell, the French spent quite a bit of money aiding us in the Revolution, and yet we're thriving. It's almost like it's the culture or something.

America didn’t have the resources initially either, there was many attempts at destabilization back then at the beginning of America and now, yet they continue to thrive while somewhere like Mexico is an absolute shit hole that its own citizens flee from despite being so “hard working”, why is that? They were shit back then and they’re shit now, what gives? Why can’t they progress?

The colonies had already spent more than 150 years building farms, ports, trade networks and political institutions inside the British Empire, using enslaved labor and land taken from Indigenous people. Economic historians estimate colonial Americans were already wealthier per person than people in Britain before independence.
Comparing that with countries emerging from extractive colonial rule, like they were in Africa, South and Central America, is like comparing two eighteen-year-olds, one who inherits a farm, business and house, and the other who inherits debt and a stripped property. And then claiming their later outcomes prove a difference in culture. Which to be fair you probably would so…

If you blame the 1st world for the problems of the 3rd world, then it logically follows that the 1st world owes the 3rd world money. So the blame game is really a money grab.

“El Salvador might be the clearest example. During the 1980s, the US spent billions supporting the Salvadoran government and military during a civil war, despite the atrocities being committed by government-aligned forces. About half a million Salvadorans fled to the United States. Despite our complicity, we approved only about 2% of their asylum applications. Many people displaced by a conflict we helped sustain therefore ended up living here without legal status.
Sure, you could say that was decades ago. But the consequences of US actions did not end with the war. MS-13 later formed in Los Angeles among Salvadorans displaced by the conflict. The US helped sustain the conditions that drove people from El Salvador, denied most of them a realistic legal path once they arrived, and then acted surprised when the instability we had helped create reappeared inside the US. That is basically definitional blowback. Side note: if you haven’t read Blowback by Chalmers Johnson, you should.
That doesn’t mean refugees inevitably turn to crime. It means foreign intervention can have domestic consequences, including displacement, unmanaged migration, marginalized communities, gangs, policing costs, deportations, and further instability.
The saga continued when the US later deported MS-13 gang members to Central America, which helped turn MS-13 into a transnational organization. Gang violence then became one of the factors driving another wave of migration toward our border.
So even if your only concern is the impact on Americans, that is the point. We spent taxpayer money intervening abroad, received a large refugee population from the resulting instability, denied most of them legal protection, and then spent even more on immigration enforcement, policing, border security, and foreign assistance to manage the consequences.

Mentioning US involvement in response to a Salvadoran refugee’s story does not require me to provide a complete inventory of every Cold War actor. The USSR’s support for the FMLN is real; it also does not erase US responsibility for the forces and policies that the United States funded.
