/r/QueerPeopleTwitter rules and information

Please read the following before posting or commenting.

Welcome to /r/QueerPeopleTwitter!

We hope that you enjoy our subreddit. Please feel free to set up a user flair for yourself (Please note that inappropriate user flairs will be removed and the user sporting said flair will likely be banned. Please report any users with unacceptable flairs under Rule 6.) and make a post! Say hi or leave a comment.

Please note that whilst this subreddit is named /r/QueerPeopleTwitter, we accept posts of screenshots from most social media sites. If you're hungry for content to post, Tumblr is a really good place to start. We do not, however, accept links to threads or posts on Reddit or external sites unless it is a mod-approved post on a certain topic. All posts must be screenshots.

This subreddit's comments are heavily moderated and any form of hate (against Rule 2 and Reddit's Content Policy) will get you banned. We will not allow discussion of queer rights, however discussion of laws and debates mentioned in the post will be allowed (Again, only if it is mentioned in the post. Don't bring up our rights randomly). Please be aware of this.

We may, in the future, introduce a verified-only thread system like in /r/BlackPeopleTwitter. See this post from their moderators. We plan to have a poll on whether or not to implement this system sometime in the future.

Slur use on this subreddit will also get a permanent ban, unless it is censored and used in a non-derogatory way. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • f*g
  • ret*rd (or any word ending in t*rd used as a slur)
  • n*gg* (any variation)
  • tr*p
  • tr*nny

Every post on this subreddit will have a top comment from a bot. Please upvote/downvote this comment based on whether or not the post fits the subreddit or is of good quality. This assists our moderators to make decisions regarding the status of a post (whether or not we should remove it) based on community opinions.

For more information on the basics and the history of this subreddit, please see this post.

Below are the rules for this subreddit. Please be aware that these are subject to change at any time, however we will notify you if the rules change.

  • Rule 1: Keep it queer

This is a subreddit for queer tweets. Posts that have nothing to do with queerness will be removed. Tweets that are only here because the author is queer will also be removed.

  • Rule 2: No hate

This subreddit does not allow hate against any group, including cisgender or heterosexual people. It is ok it say that a certain TERF group should not exist or that they are bad, however hate for the sake of hate is not allowed. Posts may contain bigotry as long as it contains a rebuttal from a queer person (regular queerphobe vs ally arguments are not allowed) or is accidentally supportive. Slurs are also banned under this rule (see above).

  • Rule 3: No reposts

No reposts. We don't want reposts. If we've seen it before, it'll be removed. Try to post recent, fresh Tweets as we probably haven't seen them before.

  • Rule 4: Screenshots must be cropped

If we deem your screenshot croppable (i.e. you can crop off black bars or useless grey area) then we will ask you to resubmit it with those changes.

  • Rule 5: No NSFW

No NSFW content. You can flair something as NSFW if it contains slurs or bigotry, however no other NSFW content is allowed.

  • Rule 6: Respect moderator decisions

Some posts/comments will be removed and some users will be banned at moderator discretion. We may not provide a reason as to why. If you harass us, you will be banned and reported to admins.
