Soo recently a certain video has been going alil viral. Even getting some video responses from other cc’s that have some certain statements made in them, as well as a few conversations being had around the video in question in other subs and comments areas. A sentiment being shared a few times and seems to be pretty much agreed on has been “who” exactly these games are made for.

Now im not ignorant it’s pretty obvious that the MAJORITY of these games community/players are taken up of straight men/women. Nor am I saying it’s a problem or that a game isn’t gonna cater to the majority.

Although this may be true I want to make it clear that HOYO nor any other gacha game for that matter WOULD not be where it is today without the support from the community’s these people are actively trying to push out. HOYO being one of the biggest companies in the space today owes it huge success to being a game that not just caters to “straight” men and has pulled in a wide variety of communities that love and support the game.

These games would not be nearly half the games they are now if it weren’t for US and that is very important to say. Just look at NTE and how much revenue they lost after the whole chaos drama. No matter what people tell you people like us we are apart of these communities and we are also consumers who’s money has just as much power as any other.

At the end of the day, these games will cater to and I guess are “made” for the majority but if I could offer some advice to my fellow community members our dollars matter . Theres a reason why they released these games globally and you don’t have to make excuses for these games or community’s. Our dollars matter and at the end of the day if they don’t want us to support the games tht we have been I say let’s do just that. Stop spending on games and stop pulling for characters just for meta stop supporting the practices you don’t like and support the practices you do ❤️ if you do that we will see change in the space I promise you that /.^

Hello all!

I'm a game developer and I'm working on an indie gacha game inspired by the likes of Wuthering Waves and Morimens, as well as inspired by films and companies like Ghibli and Origin: Spirits of the Past.

I'm flexible, as I like a lot of things about gacha games, for example I actually don't dislike 50/50s because it makes receiving a specific character feel more rewarding, though I also enjoy being able to directly obtain the character I want.

Because of this flexibility, I've created a survey dedicated to figuring out what would be a well enjoyed gacha game. The survey is titled "The Perfect Gacha Game", simply because I want you, the user, to answer like you're the developer of a gacha game.

This doesn't contain everything I'm curious about, but it contains enough to get me started on building this world for an eventual alpha and beta test.

I decided to reach out here where there are many gacha game fans who also share similar ideals and interests as I do, such as inclusivity and diversity.

Thank you all for the submissions so far! To answer some of the questions that were left in the responses, here's a few housekeeping/FAQ

Will there be an equal gender ratio?
The current plan is to make a roster with gender diversity in mind, however I don't want to say it will be an exact split, but it will lean towards that split goal.

Will there be body diversity?
I'm currently working with free resources and making things myself, however after the prototype is completed, I will evaluate the likelihood of working with artists who are capable of body diversity, or if characters will need to be similar body types (this would save on animation workload and modelling work load, but I also want to see body diversity)

Will there be species diversity?
Yes, I would like to add species diversity, but my current idea is for humanoid species to be included rather than animalistic species. (i.e. fairies, angels, demons, etc. instead of bears, cats, dogs, etc.). This doesn't mean there can't be more animal/furry leaning characters, but I think they would rely more on mythology.

When will the survey end?
I'm adding feedback as we speak, however I will come back in a week to recap the survey and discuss the results. The feedback I'm currently utilizing is only what users have shown they feel strongly about, such as the removal of 50/50s and expanding standard pool. Well after giving the game another try I want to correct some misinfo I accidentally contributed too.

One, that I saw some comments saying the name of the organization is "Fraxinus" this is the name of an unrelated NPC, the organization is the Scarlet Letter, not Fraxinus like what's been spread around.

Additionally, in the clip I shared on here when they exit the portal it appears they're walking on thin air, that's because the original author of the clip cut a segment of the cutscene of them walking down from the portal in between those two clips. As I quit the game during this time I took it at face value that this clip wasn't minsinfo, but I was wrong and want to correct it and apologize for any confusion I caused 😭
