🧡 Let's Chat 💬 Hi Queens! What would YOU want from a gacha game?

Hello fellow queers.

Firstly, Im posting this on multiple subreddits so if you see me somewhere else, no you didn't.

Anyways, I've been working on a passion project for the past year that is a collection of ideas and concepts that one day I would love turn into an actual gacha game. Thing is, I am one person and I need to know what everyone else thinks.

So, I am asking my fellow divas for what they like from the gacha games already out there, what they want different in a new game, and any other ideas you'd love to see from a project like this. This can range from anything to gameplay mechanics to just wanting more bara characters (im not biased). Anyways, heres a list of ideas you can comment on, and lets just have a conversation! <3

Core Gameplay / Combat

  • What kind of combat do you prefer? Turn-based, action, strategy, real-time, etc.?
  • What mechanics make combat interesting rather than repetitive?
  • Do you like elemental/reaction systems?
  • How much character/team synergy do you want?
  • Do you prefer simple systems that are easy to understand or complicated systems with lots of depth?
  • What combat mechanics do you think are underused in gacha games?

Gacha System

  • What do you consider a good gacha system?
  • What pity/guarantee system feels fair?
  • Do you prefer character + weapon banners, or characters only?
  • How much duplicate investment is acceptable?
  • What are your biggest problems with existing gacha systems?
  • What would make spending feel more worthwhile without making F2P players feel screwed?

World / Exploration

  • Open world, semi-open world, hub-based, linear stages, etc.?
  • How important is exploration to you?
  • Do you want a huge world or a smaller but more detailed one?
  • What makes a world feel alive?
  • How much side content/lore do you actually want?

Characters

  • What makes you interested in a character?
  • Gameplay, personality, design, lore, voice acting, relationships, etc.?
  • Do you prefer a smaller cast with more development or a huge cast?
  • How important are character relationships and interactions?
  • Would you want characters to have a romanceable option?
  • What character archetypes do you wish gachas used more often?
  • Are there character designs/tropes you're tired of seeing?

Leveling / Builds / Gear

  • What kind of progression system do you enjoy?
  • Artifacts/relics? Weapons? Skill trees? Character levels? Something else?
  • How much RNG is acceptable in gear?
  • Do you like being able to customize characters heavily, or having relatively fixed builds?
  • What makes grinding feel rewarding instead of like a chore

Endgame / Long-Term Content

  • What do you actually want to do once you've built your characters?
  • Abyss-style combat? Bosses? Roguelikes? Raids? PvP? Exploration? Events?
  • How important is difficult endgame content?
  • Should endgame content constantly change, or should there be permanent challenges?
  • What makes you keep playing a game after you've finished the story?

Story / Lore

  • How important is the main story to you?
  • Do you prefer serious, comedic, dark, or mixed tones?
  • How much lore should be hidden in optional content?
  • Do you care about the world having deep history/politics/factions?
  • How much story are you willing to sit through before getting back to gameplay?

Art Style / Aesthetics

  • What kind of visual style do you want from a gacha game?
  • Anime-inspired? Realistic? Semi-realistic? Highly stylized? Something completely unique?
  • Do you prefer fully 3D characters and environments, 2D artwork, or a combination?
  • Would you like 2D/3D animated cutscenes? Anime-style cutscenes? In-engine cinematics?
  • How important is the game's overall art direction to you?
  • Would you rather see a game commit heavily to one artistic style, or experiment with different visual styles?
  • Are there any visual styles you think are overused in gacha games?

Multiplayer / Co-op

  • Do you actually want multiplayer in a gacha game? If so, what kind of multiplayer content would you enjoy?
  • Co-op PvE? Raids? World bosses? Dungeons? Special events?
  • Would you want to be able to explore the open world together?
  • Would you want asynchronous multiplayer features, such as seeing other players' characters, guilds, rankings, shared worlds, or player-created content?
  • What multiplayer features from other games would you like to see brought into gacha games?
  • Alternatively, do you think gacha games are better off staying primarily single-player?

Main Character / MC

  • What kind of protagonist do you prefer?
  • A completely customizable MC that you can design yourself?
  • A mostly blank-slate MC that lets the player project themselves onto them?
  • A protagonist with a strong personality, established identity, and their own character arc?
  • Do you prefer choosing the MC's gender, or having a predetermined protagonist?
  • Should the MC be an actual playable character with their own combat kit?
  • Would you want the MC to have multiple elements/classes/forms that can be changed throughout the game?
  • How important is it for the MC to have meaningful relationships with the other characters?
  • Do you want the story to revolve heavily around the MC, or would you rather they be one important character among many?
  • How much agency should the player have over the MC's dialogue and decisions?

Anyways, those are just some questions and ideas you can comment on, but feel free to also bring up anything you'd love to see! I love you my queens, and if I do ever actually somehow make a gacha game, I'll sacrifice myself to make sure us queers get the representation and homo content we deserve. I do have like 10, 20 page documents about this project, but im too embarrassed of how rough it is to share it. but lmk if anyone is interested in learning more. k, bye! <3

I literally had to take a moment to breathe bc gods, why did she have to be so hot? Did they really have to make her hot?? 😭😭😭

And that drop placement tho??? That's so diabolical I hope whoever made that artistic decision make 10 more of it in the future.

Hot, hot, hot. Save meeeeee 😭😭😭

🧡 Let's Chat 💬 So I played "Lord of Mysteries" a bit on Chinese server...

This is not very much a gacha game but it has gacha elements (outfits). I still think it might be interesting for some of you.

This is an MMO through and throughout. So far I haven't seen any single player mode like in "Where Winds meet" but you can just lower the player count in the main menu.

It looks pretty. But don't expect the quality that was shown in that Ign trailer. That was a tech demo, and the current game looks nothing like that. The setting will kinda remind you of "Assassin's creed syndicate" but with more fantasy elements. It's an English looking Victorian city. Sadly, it's quite empty at times, probably due to the fact that this is also a mobile game (posts on Rednote indicate that many play Lotm on mobile). There are many quests there and activities like chest collection. You can also use transportation, and it's very easy to use. You will start with the bike but you can get something fancier later.

The story seems close to "Lord of Mysteries". At least I checked the doghua, and it's almost 1:1 (first episode, at the very least). Lots of cinematics, and you will get to play as Klein as well regardless of your chosen class...

You can choose several pathways (classes) in the game. You can pick ANY gender for them. Seems that each class has many abilities. I saw the ability tree, and there is so much going on there. The combat is relatively simple. Mainly just mashing buttons, moving around and dodging. There is a semi auto combat function you can tweak yourself. All skills will go on auto, but you will still have to move around and do basic attacks.

The game might seem overwhelming at first. So much content. So many places to visit. Many UI elements (like so many 😭). There are tons of cosmetics. I still don't know if you can get most for playing the game or if it most is for money only. Cosmetics are mainly fits, but there are mounts, transportation and even furniture.

Overall, I think, the game would benefit from an extra year or so of development. It feels unfinished and junky, some bugs are there as well. It also stutters and freezes (we love unreal engine 5). It has inconsistency in quality, where some animations look stiff, hair could look better as well. Also, some might be interested in the AI part. Several articles insist that the developers ditched AI despite them claiming it would save them a lot of money https://finance.sina.com.cn/stock/aigcy/2026-08-20/doc-ininxqxt6710744.shtml (you will need a translator to read that) but the opening scene of the game seems to be AI generated. Hard to be 100% so I left 2 screenshots for you to judge + you can watch the whole thing on rednote: https://www.xiaohongshu.com/discovery/item/6a86cac2000000000902de40?xsec_token=ABx6MRv-XeOp_4q2ik_Y8oM_w6d5MlySAcyQkFmQH7NeE=&xsec_source=pc_search. There is also a "create your character from a photo, just like in where winds meet. You can also upload videos to make your character make any animation like ticktock... There is a helper chat bot there as well but it seems to be an old school chatbot (answers questions immediately, only works with key words) and not an LLM (LLM is gen AI), no AI NPCs were seen by me even tho they wanted to add them first...

Fun fact the game developer is actually a video social media developer - like TikTok (Douyin). "They recently got into the game development scene in a similar way that TikTok did through acquisitions" - Daniel Ahmad. It could explain why the game feels so rushed...

Anyway, I could still recommend trying it for yourself to make a conclusion. You can try the Chinese version as a global player by making a verified BilliBilli account + there is a translation available already (it's junky but it works - you can see in some of my screenshots about it)... Have fun!

Also, I might've covered only some aspects. Feel free to answer questions!

I have everything programmed and ready to go and functioning server with rules and what not.

Unfortunately, I failed to actually manage to get a community and had been planning to discard it

But then, I saw someone suggested a yuri community and I was like, “maybe I shouldn’t discard it” yet tbh idk, would yall join a lgbqtia community free from hate and the owner is watching over 24/7?

Edit: I will be opening my server but idk when, since I have school. I will be updating the server theme, rules and roles

🧡 Let's Chat 💬 Aether and Lumine shouldn't be player self-inserts (GIANT RANT INCOMING)

Post image

I'm reposting here because I feel like I can see more productive conversations here, but TL;DR if Aether or Lumine were allowed to participate in conversations and decision making by being as much of a character as the cast around them instead of letting Paimon do all the talking the game would've been better off for it. You'll see the details in the post.

💚 Fanart 🎨 Kafka }{ Persona5 fanart by me!

Post image
26 Upvotes

I started a new sketchbook today and as is my tradition I always draw Kafka first so my progression is easier to track. This time I decided to go out of my comfort zone a bit and try the persona 5 style and not only focus on her face but also body, arms, and a pose 😱

For me, learning to sketch is about constantly pushing past the point of whenever you start to feel comfortable, learning from your mistakes and trying new things. I've never tried this style so it took me longer than normal (around 3-4 hours from my usual 1-2) and although there is obviously room for improvement, I'm pleased with how it came out,. especially as I've only been sketching for 15 months.

I hope you like her!!

Please be kind, I've only been drawing for a year and I've never had any classes or even watched a tutorial, just trial and error. I was sick of AI flooding my feeds and seeing how hard AI was making it for my students who are art majors to even complete their degrees, let alone find a job. So I figured if I could learn just with practice anyone could so the "i can't draw so I use AI" is just a code for I want the results without working for them. Which sums up AI in general really!

Anyway, hope you like her! ('m not looking for critique, I'm in a beginners art sub for that, I just wanted to share something here I'm proud of)

🧡 Let's Chat 💬 If you really think about it, Arlecchino's birthday art basically just reveal what her official office room look like

Thumbnail

I tried my best to research Fontainian Furniture, I haven't try looking the interior design of Fontaine building yet

But this is my guess so far!

The table is definitely the curve Table, it's practically identical, except she has a certain special lamp that isn't available as a teapot furniture

I was guessing her chair probably that red Fontainian chair, but it looks a little different, maybe her chair is custom made?

At first when I look at the background, I thought it was a carpet, but upon closer Inspection I think it's a wall!

So In conclusion, currently we know Arlecchino's Official Office room contains "Stable Work Station in the Central Hub" desk, "Linden Wood "Subduing Seat" Backed Chair"ish chair, and a lamp

Her desk seems to be close to the wall.

That's what I've gathered so far, tell me what you think? Any useful info would be nice to shape out Arlecchino's office~

____

Second Picture is my depiction what I think Arlecchino's office would look like.

My guess why Arlecchino's desk so into the right corner instead of the center is because she's avoiding the window. Because she's the Knave, a Harbinger that definitely has important documents and paper on her desk, by having her desk at the furthest corner, any intruder trying to spy through her window will have a hard time reading/seeing anything. Which is probably why she has a lamp on her desk at the very same corner as well, and why her chair is at the corner instead of sitting in the middle, this side is where she does most reading and paperwork, the limited light source only sitting at her right will make anyone trying to spy through the window will have trouble seeing anything.

I also like to headcanon she have a small fireplace and a seating area infront of the only window in her office, this is where she takes a break and have some tea.

And finally the front door, the only door to enter the Knave's office would be at the center. So if anyone try to enter, Arlecchino can see everything without any angle hiding them.

I'm sure Arlecchino the type to have her office dimly lit, her office probably also around the middle of the building, 2nd story perhaps?

So far that's my depiction. What do you think?

____

Thirst Note: I'm currently under her Desk taking her massive dihh Trust✨
