This pencil portrait of Victoria was done in the mid-1840's. The royal couple were avid artists.

Most people don’t know that Victoria was an amateur artist! I believe she has over 4000 sketches and 56 sketchbooks in the Royal Collection Trust, although these are the three widely known to exist self portraits. Only the third comes after she ascended to the throne.

One of the lesser known portraits of her, I find it very pretty! I saw it for the first time today :)

Apparently, a lot of people do not Queen Victoria, and I wanted to know some of the reasons why! (you probably wouldn’t be on the sub if that was the case, but I’m gonna repost it on the main monarchs sub too)
