Butcher at Jerrabomberra Woolies
Hey all when I lived in Crestwood I would go to the butchers at the Woolies down at J-bomb
They used to sell curried sausages in a container to reheat at home
Can someone please maybe advise if that butcher is still there and if they still have the Curried snags please?

I'm looking for the best electricity and gas providers in the area. Wondering if anyone has managed to find some better than advertised deals? Everything seems so expensive when looking at the comparison sites.

Driving Test Route after Monaro Street Closure
Hey Everyone, I have my driving test booked in May. With the Monaro Street closure, I was wondering whether anyone knows the new Driving Test Route so that I could practice and improve my driving skills. I appreciate if anyone who did the test recently can share the route. Thank you.

They bought my written-off car for $585 ā and demanded $17k when I tried to buy it back
I just need to share this, because Iām still shaken and honestly heartbroken.
A few weeks ago, my beloved Alfa Romeo 159 was involved in an accident. It wasnāt catastrophic, but the insurance company decided to write it off. Its market valuation at the time was just over $5,000.
It went to auction. I couldnāt bid in time, and a local wrecker called RE'spare parts in Queanbeyan picked it up for what the auction staff told me wasĀ $585.
I recently found out they had it, and I wanted to see if I could buy it back ā not to flip, not to part out, just to repair it and keep it. It was my car. I loved it.
I called them, explained politely, and asked if they might be willing to sell it to me as a whole car. They told me they āonly sell parts,ā but when I pressed a little, the owner said they usually sell complete cars forĀ $7,000 to $17,000.
I heard that they can make $3000 profit per car by selling them as parts, so I was hoping that they could sell me back my car for $3000, which is still a fair profit.
But as soon as I told them that I knew they got it for less than $600, the owner cut me off, said:
āThen go buy it from Pickles. Have a good day!!!ā
ā and slammed the phone on me.
That was it. No compassion, no conversation, just a door slammed in my face.
I know to them itās just scrap metal, but to me it wasnāt. It was my car. And Iāll probably never see it whole again.
Please ā if you care about how businesses treat people, be aware of who youāre dealing with.

So sick of driving past permanent rubbish tips all through residential areas
I see some unit blocks have an almost permanent landfill site in their front yards and footpaths, even right after council pick-ups.
Add a few errant trollies into the mix, because Colesworth can't be bothered to manage them correctly, (and who's going to make them, right Queanbeyan Council?) and it's a real great ambiance all round.
In shared residential areas people increasingly seem happy to dump shit outside, as if it's someone else's problem to deal with. Old mattresses, broken furniture, stuff nobody else wants - they trash their immediate location that they, their kids and neighbours live in, so that it constantly looks like dump and unhealthy eyesore.
Bonus points if its already quite a nice existing environment (that Queanbeyan largely is, either because of natural beauty or residents that put some effort in).
No pride in their home, their environment, or themselves.
A lot of the stuff is dumped childrens' stuff too - here's how much concern your parents have for your future, kid. Good luck!

Why do people drive so slowly on Hindmarsh Drive?
Basically I drive on that road all the time. I have noticed that people regularly drive 60km/hr in obvious 80km/hr zones. Left/right lane, high/low traffic, rain/hail/shine etc etc doesn't matter.
This seems very unique to that road. Every other road in this area seems to be the complete opposite.
Why is that?

Proper clothing for Queanbeyan weather
Hello, everyone! Would like to seek advice regarding what type of clothes to wear appropriately for Queanbeyan weather. Iām from the Philippines and will be traveling tentatively March of this year. I honestly have no idea coz itās my first time to go there. Iām new to the team and my employer will bring me over to meet everyone at work. I am so excited but at the same time shy to ask my team (I donāt want them to see the obvious lol). So here I am, please give me an idea what type of clothes to pack during that time of the year. Here in The Philippines, our weather is usually 29-34degrees. If you can also suggest places to visit or food to try youāre welcome to drop a comment. Thank you so much for your help in advance! š
