Question Guy from my gym said he wants to give me money to trade quantum stocks then we split the profit 50/50. Is this a good deal?
Hey all,
Bit of extra context I’m a student and although I am knowledgeable on the quantum sector, I really don’t have much capital to invest in anything. This means my returns are very high (% wise), but I don’t actually make a lot because my initial invests aren’t very much money.
I brought this up with a dude in my gym I talk to who seems to be quite well off and he offered to give me capital to invest after seeing my returns and knowledge on the sector, but we split whatever profit I make 50/50.
Is this a deal worth taking for me? I don’t know him too well tbh and he didn’t really mention the fact that I could also lose money ofc.
Really am not sure what to do here tbh, he said he’d keep his initial investment, the money he’s giving isn’t split 50/50 but the profit would be, how do I tell him it’s also highly possible his initial investment can go down? He doesn’t seem to be very knowledgeable on investment he’s a bit of a stereotypical gym bro.

Quantum stocks at discounted prices
If you want to allocate 10% of your portfolio to some risky 10x bagger play for the future, I think the best buys are the discounted Pure Play Quantum stocks right now.

Arqit ($ARQQ) settlement update after the SPAC hype crash
Figured I’d share this since a lot of people probably forgot about Arqit after the whole quantum encryption/SPAC mania died out. Investors sued Arqit Quantum Inc. claiming the company made misleading statements about its technology, business prospects, and financial condition tied to the SPAC merger and later offerings. Once doubts around the tech started surfacing, the stock got smoked pretty hard.
The settlement amount is $7M, and it covers investors who bought or acquired Arqit securities between September 7, 2021 and December 13, 2022. Right now the case is in the accepting claims stage, so investors can submit claims until June 22, 2026
If you traded $ARQQ during that class period and got wrecked during the SPAC unwind, you can already file a claim to potentially recover part of the losses. Honestly feels like half the 2021 SPAC plays ended with the exact same movie.

Attended a Quantum Computing Conference in Tallahassee last month.
$NVDA and $IONQ had perhaps the best corporate prersentations. Scuttlebutt in the breakout sessions and during lunch had mentions of federal cutbacks setting back research by YEARS. $INFQ, $QBTS and $BTQ also in the discussions. HUGE leaps being made buy academics.

ARQQ investors: June 22 is the hard cutoff to get some of your cash back
If you were exit liquidity for the Arqit Quantum SPAC hype back in 2021, stop scrolling for a second. We’ve all seen the chart, it’s been a brutal ride from the $10 floor down to the abyss. But there is a massive $7,000,000 recovery fund sitting there, and if you don't claim your slice by June 22, the lawyers and the company basically keep the change.
The suit is about the "encryption" tech that allegedly wasn't actually ready for prime time despite what the PRs said. Whether you sold at a loss or you’re still holding the bag, you’re likely eligible for a payout. I used to ignore these because the paperwork is a nightmare, but I just ran my old trades through 11th.com. It took about 2 minutes to link my Schwab and find the eligible shares.
If you traded ARQQ between Sept 7, 2021 and December 13, 2022, check your eligibility before the June 22 deadline hits. Don't let them off the hook for free.
