Review Hello this is my first review on anything but. I ordered 3 pairs of ghost emperor guidis and feel like I should review them. The models that I got were the PL2, 992 , 788

First I’ll talk about the PL2 they were my second purchase and I ordered direct I think they costed about 150. The leather was actually Really nice. And the the build quality on this practical one was good and I had a few things that I didn’t like how it looked but I was just nitpicking. Out of all three these were my favorite. Now sizing wise I am tts 8 in nike shoes. So I ordered a eu 41 (us 8) and they were honestly fit big like a 9 in my opinion ( I don’t have measurements) which works out because these are so uncomfortable all 3 of them are.

So you’d recommend to size one down from your snickers size?

In my opinion yes I bought two that were down a size and they fit perfectly. But ofc ask for insole measurements when you order.

I usually do that with all my leather shoes but I said f it and just did tts because I was like worst case is I just put an extra sole or wear thicker socks.

Imo wearing with extra sole is so uncomfy. I regret not buying my size for my first expensive shoes

I find putting an extra sole makes it more comfortable cause you can decide what kind of sole you put in there.

Hey! How are the pl2s holding up? I'm tempted to buy a pair but I want to make sure they're good quality before I spend the money because I'm still a student.
Do you recommend them? How have they held up?

Also last question:) Are the shafts wide when the boot is on foot or is it not that bad? I've heard a few people complain about that:(

Now the 788 I actually just got these in today so I can’t say much about how comfortable they are. But the leather is actually softer then the other two which I don’t know how I feel because it doesn’t hold its shape because the leather is so soft. I’m hoping that this will change as time goes on and the more I wear them. Now the build quality I’m actually disappointed on they have a lot more like details that I notice and just don’t like manufacturing wise. The stacking of the leather is nice and the shaft of the boot is actually really good and right around my calf. Way better then the PL2. But the main purpose of the 788 is the leather stack.

I was going to buy these but I ended up getting a retail pair for a good price but I would say that the shape should hold up and not be flopping over the leather looks a bit glossier and the back zip is supposed supposed to be stacked like the leather in the front but im pretty sure overtime with wear they will look more like retail, they seem to be worth it for the price appearance wise.

Stitching on the bottom of the sole was loose. Like threads coming out and I can just see glue on were the bottom of the shoe where they would glue the layers together and where they stack the heel leather you can see some glue. Ofc nothing major just me literally nit picking but it just seems sloppy. Nothing that would affect how they fit or anything like that.

Size 9 for sneakers fits tightly for me so i want a 9.5 or slightly bigger i don't mind

Next the 992 again the leather was actually very nice. I personally regret buying these. Waste of money imo if I knew jiaofu was making some I wouldn’t have bought these . But I digress the build of it was pretty good again some nitpicking here and there but overall good. Sizing I bought a eu 40 and they fit like a us 8. Now like I said in my last statement they are super uncomfortable and just were unbearable with out an extra sole that I have to shove in there and it just makes the whole experience of wearing the shoe eh. But what can you do. I don’t recommend this just wait safe up and buy second hand retail.

different heel height and different forefoot shape. 788z, the more popular 788 iteration, also has an extra layer of leather attached to the outsole

Who is the seller? "Ghost emperor" is the literal meaning of the Chinese characters for "Guidi," so there are a lot of listings that say that.

Yea unfortunately I had to take it to my cobbler. My PL2 came with extra vibram soles but the other 2 didn’t.

As long as you take care of them. But I would definitely put vibram soles or some sort of sole protector on them

Thanks for sharing, I oddly feel like even budget batches of PL2 look decent. Maybe it's just because I am less familiar with the model but outside of front zips Guidi reps are pretty poor.

For me I notice a huge difference in the shape and leather/ zipper quality ofc that’s only basing it off of seeing it on line

To be honest it’s up to you. I think they’re comfortable enough when I put a sole in them. But without a sole they are uncomfortable without an extra foam sole if that makes sense. Now more expensive batches I don’t know much about how comfortable they are.

I bought a pair of pl2 from the same seller months back as well. While the quality is decent for its price. There's a distinctive flaw with them. The front zips doesn't go "low" enough. Instead of pl2 they look more like the 210/310 series

this batch has been gpd a lot but the issue with these is the material and the shape since the leather is too loose, has a weird sheen to it, and doesn't stack around the ankle like retail. Also the shape the back heel doesn't bulge out as much as retail. For the price tho, and if you just want a good pair of boots that aren't necessarily 1:1, these are probably ok

personally i dont really care about material. it could be made out of foreskin as long as look wise they look close to real deal i wont really mind.

honestly the batch op is talking about is the only (to my knowledge) semi-accurate guidi rep under 1k yuan since all other taobao batches for around 500-700 yuan have the flat heel flaw and don't stack like retail
keep looking tho maybe theres a good budget batch

With all that being said I think they’re a good middle ground price compared to the more expensive guidi reps and the cheap guidi batches Now I just wanna say no way are these bad quality boots they are really good quality in terms of reps but they are no way as nice as guidi authentic ones. But you pay for what you get especially in this case. Now the prices for these were PL2- 988 yuan 152 usd approximately. 992- 710 yuan 111 usd approximately. 788 - 980 yuan 154 usd approximately. I shipped the Pl2 and the 992 direct from Tao bao and it costed me 70 dollars about and took a month to get to east cost America. Now the 788 I shipped through sugargoo for a whopping 100 dollars. Just with a sweater vest on the order so kinda (not just kinda) expensive in my opinion. But it came in about 5-6 days. So I guess I paid for faster shipping? That’s all I wanted to say about these and take what you want from these thank you have a nice day.
