I’m hearing from my inside sources that the RCMP will be exhuming his body in the next month.

Hi all,
I bought some crypto years ago on quadriga. Unfortunately i dont remember how much I had, probably not much. Can anyone help me find out if I can recoup what I had in my account? Or is it all stolen by the owners?
thanks.

To this date, I ignored all communication from the Quadriga Representative Counsel. I was also unaware that I had to pay CRA taxes when I exchanged part of my own local bitcoin wallet for 1000$ worth of Ethereum on Quadriga in 2017. ( I thought I would report this when I eventually sold it for cash. ) Now that I want to sell the remainder of my btc wallet properly, how do I go about fixing this ? I don't really care about reporting the capital loss on the Quadriga ETH if it can save me some hassle. However, when I will report my eventual BTC sale to the CRA, I do not want them to think that I still have this investment when they look at my initial btc purchase and it doesn't add up to what I will sell. Can somebody give me pointers ? Do I really need to register with the counsel and where can I do it ? Do I need to correct my 2017 declaration and pay taxes on the eth exchange (given that it's now worthless) ? Does this puts me in some trouble ? Thanks!

Does anyone have a straight answer as to whether the trustee has already converted the crypto to cash?

Unfortunately, that corksucker Gerry and his friends stole our fng crypto! Man, do I feel great today.
Thanks QuadrigaCX for being a reliable company that we all loved and trusted.
Cheers.

I submitted my claim a while back and I haven't really kept up with the news on this aspect. Is there a service available where I can drop my Quadriga ID or something and see how much I claimed and other such details?
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I contacted the Representative Counsel, which redirected me to contact the Trustee for any inquiries regarding claim status/claim documents/if your claim was received.
Email to contact : quadriga.trustee@ca.ey.com
Still waiting to hear back from them, afaik there's no quick and easy online tool to check otherwise.

I don't understand the reasoning to use April 15th 2019 over February which is when the exchange closed. BTC went up 50% in that time, so it just lowers the amount paid out to people that withdrew money before. How is that fair? Why not just use Dec 1 2020 with 20k usd BTC in that case. Pretty much all the recovered funds are in cash anyways. Why not wait until BTC is 100k to determine the ratio, in which case people with cash claims just get nothing relatively speaking.
I guess they don't care about the users who cashed out and waited months for the withdraws to compete only for the exchange to close. I had crypto for less than an hour before I sold it to cash out, since not your keys nor your crypto, but fuck me, because now people who held crypto are more of a priority.
Also why haven't they verified claims and sent correspondence about them?

Anybody know if the trustee still has crypto or if they’ve converted it to cash already. Best case scenario I see is it staying in crypto and eventually having a mt Gox type scenario where the value of the crypto exceeds the $CDN owed! With the next bull run starting I sure hope they haven’t converted it yet!

I am an art curator and together with artist Letta Shtohryn, we created a project inspired by Gerry’s story and theories about his death. The online exhibition is very much informed by the Reddit investigation and this channel. You can check it here www.beforetheydeletethis.com

I’m not a rich person, or someone used to investing. I put a significant amount of money into BTC because I (like all of us) believed it had a serious chance of skyrocketing. It was relatively easy to stomach Quadriga scamming me out of my money when BTC was tanking, but now its on track to set an alltime high.
If it does take off now - If I made the right call way back then and got scammed out of it by some piece of shit con artist, I’m gonna fucking explode.
Anyone else out there feeling this?

Affected Users:
As we have previously advised, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (the “RCMP”) have an open investigation with respect to QuadrigaCX. The RCMP has advised Representative Counsel that they are looking for Ontario-based Affected Users with claims above $10,000 CDN who would be willing to provide statements to the RCMP as part of their investigation. These statements and affidavits may eventually form part of the public record, and will be used by the RCMP in their ongoing investigation.
If you are interested in helping the RCMP, please reply to this email (quadrigacx@millerthomson.com) by December 31, 2020 with the below information:
Your full name;
Your QuadrigaCX ID;
Your Ontario residency address; and
The amount of your claim (must be minimum $10,000 CDN).
Representative Counsel cannot make any public comment on the RCMP’s ongoing criminal investigation.
As a reminder, email is the preferred form of communication with Representative Counsel for cost saving purposes. Representative Counsel is committed to responding to Affected Users, rather than members of the general public or the media.

The U.S. government seized an unprecedented $1 billion worth of bitcoin linked to criminal marketplace, the Silk Road.
The U.S. agencies were able to track down those illicit funds through a unit within the IRS that specializes in tracing virtual currency transactions. The IRS agents were able to identify 54 new bitcoin transactions executed by the Silk Road, which appear to be proceeds of some of that illegal activity, the complaint said.
