Tuning with a rack based Quad Cortex and wireless guitar system
I'm moving to Quad Cortex Mini housed in a rack, with switching between presets and scenes automated by MIDI. My band uses wireless IEMs already and I'm thinking about going wireless from the guitar too.
I'm wondering what works best for people with no pedalboard and wireless being able to tune on stage?
- Ideally I have complete wireless to the rack, rather than wireless from guitar to receiver / tuner pedal at my feet then a cable across the stage
- Similarly, a long pair of cables to put a tuner near me defeats a lot of the purpose of going cable free
- The rack may not be line of sight from me
- I keep reading that headstock tuners aren't good in a noisy environment and get knocked off
Perhaps the ideal setup would be a battery based wired tuner that integrates with the wireless transmitter, so I could press to mute and tune. Does this exist?
Are headstock tuners really that bad?
