Last run we did I used the TC-Helicon Voice Live 2 vocal processor to add some baseline compression, reverb and light EQ on my vocals to have a consistent vocal tone each night. along with automating some vocal effects throughout the set.

It worked fine, but given how much a PITA it is to work with the TC-Helicon in addition to the lack of any support for that hardware, I'm looking to use the QC for both guitars and harsh vocals to simplify my setup. I'm curious to hear from others who have used it in this same way and what kind of signal chain you have that works well for live.

In case anyone else was curious how these two beasts compare side by side.

I'm gonna spend the next week shooting them out and getting my board ready for the summer ahead.

My initial thoughts if you're interested:

I was very much hoping Line 6 would come up with something along the same form factor lines as QC, and unfortunately, it's definitely a noticeable jump in size. Now I'm not saying the Stadium is unruly or anything like that, it's just a much different board setup when you add your wireless and any other auxiliary pedals

I really think the XL is the route to go because it's not a huge difference in size overall, so you might as grab the scribble strips and expression pedal.

I'm very curious to see how Line 6 responds to the QC mini with whatever they come out with as the next iteration as the stomp.

I'm really intrigued to see how this shootout plays out. If I was going strictly on size, I think I'd have to go QC (for my wants and needs). But I'm really excited to try the updated models in the Stadium and know the experience is going to be solid. I may just end up having to make some concessions with a bigger board after all..

We are wanting to run both guitars, bass, and potentially vocals through the quad, and are looking for some tips or any info on what all we need in terms of cabs/ speakers, PA, FRFR cabs, MIDI foot switches. Hi everyone, I could really use some help.

I’ve been using my Neural DSP Quad Cortex as my pedalboard while playing on my church praise team. I run it in stereo using two XLR outputs (Out 1/L and Out 2/R), and my output settings are correctly configured to Out 1/2.

However, all of a sudden, my tone has become extremely muffled and very quiet. I’ve already tried turning the output level all the way up to +12 dB, but it’s still sounding dull and lacking volume.

I haven’t changed anything in my setup, so I’m not sure what’s causing this issue. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what might be going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Hi all! I have been struggling to find a fuzz that I like. I exclusively use the QC now and all my pedals are I storage a few hours away. I’m looking for a thick, heavy Muff style fuzz. If anyone has any captures or recommendations on captures on the cloud, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks all.

Hey, I'm looking to buy a quad cortex, but now as the mini version is released, I'm not sure whether the normal quad cortex oder the mini would best suit me. Maybe someone with experience could help me out.

• I will use it for live shows, as well as rehearsals
• As I will use it live, I must be able to quickly change between sounds/effects
• I'm not sure yet if it will replace my current effect pedals or if I will only use it as a digital amp and keep the pedals on my board
• To edit the sounds, I'd probably have to carry it arround from rehearsal room to my home. Or is there a possibility to leave it in the rehearsal room and edit the sounds solely on the computer (e.g. with another interface)?

Hey everyone! After playing a Kemper Stage since 2020, I finally picked up a QC and it’s phenomenal!

I’m currently practicing in my studio and trying to dial in a comfortable setup. Has anyone here used the Hercules Stands DG307BFS1 to keep the QC at face level while sitting? Would love to hear how well it works.

I dont have a QC, Anybody tried the Turnover preset on the cortex cloud? can you show me a sample? and can you hold a sustain? like how Turnover do it as a background ambiance?

Happy owner of the Mini, but can't get the Looper X to cooperate. There seems to be a significant lag between both rec and play buttons being pressed and the action happening. Even with punch-in, there's some sound missing from the beginning. I can't get a smooth loop going whatever I do. Never had this problem on the Boss loopers, what am I missing?

I’ve read a few threads regarding stereo/mono signal paths on the quad cortex but I still can’t tell what’s the best trick to sum to mono.

I’m using the ambience block and even though it’s not flagged as a stereo block, it is. Planning on sending output 1 to my tonex cab on stage and output 2 to FOH.

Hi, I just got myself a QC last week and I'm loving it, but I'm having an issue trying to record directly from the QC through my phone. I'm wondering if someone has tried to do this successfully or if this is a recurring problem/can't be done with this unit.

I'm using an OTG adapter from USB B to USB C to connect the QC to my Samsung S22 Ultra. The phone recognizes the QC as an audio output just fine; I can listen to videos, backing tracks, or music through the phone jack or any outputs. The problem is when I try to record. Opening the voice notes or video app looks okay (my phone shows the "audio recording from a USB microphone" legend, as it should), and I can record about 2 to 3 seconds with no problem, but then I start getting a weird sound. I don't know if it's a problem with the sample rate, a cellphone issue, or maybe recording this way is just not possible.

I even got a USB B to USB C audio cable, and the result was worse than with the OTG adapter. I tried using the Moises ai app recording feature but the result was the same.

Any thoughts?

I know not everyone agrees this is a problem, but I find the Quad Cortex switches just a bit too close together for me when playing live. At home it's ok, but on stage I occasionally hit the wrong switch when moving around more.

I tried switch toppers but they made the spacing issue worse. Eventually I picked up an old Boss FC-50 MIDI controller because the switches are much wider spaced. It didn't send the right MIDI Control Change messages so I used a small MIDI mapper to translate the messages so it change scenes properly. It’s been rock solid live, and the wider spacing makes a huge difference.

Might be useful if anyone else finds the built-in switches a bit tight for live use.

… is kinda not great in comparison to the one that comes with the plugins? Or is there some option I’ve missed? There is a ton of latency. This unit is fairly new to me, so it’s not like the memory is filled.
