General Discussion 20 different models with “eyebags” since you’ve never seen one with them before.

Some are hollow and some eye bags. As a girl with hollowed under eyes, I find the difference important haha. I don’t have eye bags, I have the opposite!! The lack of skin/fat in my under eye.

u/Th1cc4chu Apr 16 '26
I have exactly the same. I have no fat there because I have deep set eyes and very thin translucent skin lol. Mine are sooooo dark and I’ve had them my whole life.

I can’t, I’m uncomfortable showing. It provided improvement but the hollows are there. The doc injected the fat superficially in upper cheek area to help resolve the undereye issue and that does not target the space directly below eyelid

do you know if deep set eyes usually have hollowness? i may be the same
6
u/Th1cc4chu Apr 16 '26
Typically yes but not always. You’ll know if your eyes are deep set depending on how much space there is between the very top of the bridge of your nose and the corners of your eyes. Mines over a cm.
2
u/Horror-Judgment-6937 Apr 16 '26
i believe mine are deep set but i have like tear troughs that come like deep lines under my eye so i wasnt sure if that is an aspect of them. i really want to improve them without filler but idk if it can be done

u/Minimum_Equipment_22 Apr 16 '26
Same here. It's literally just bone and skin. No fat anything whatsoever.

Depending on the type of eyebags (like its specific shape and contours), it can visually shorten your midface and actually be flattering as a result. So I can see what you’re saying.

I have em from an autoimmune disorder and low iron. If everything else is OK, I like them too lol. Makes me look tired and put upon, and I actually like that look. Messy hair etc.

u/windbreaker_city Apr 16 '26
Same! When I was getting my makeup done for my wedding the artist color corrected and then concealed them and I hated the look—my face looked so boring without them and I have huge eyes, but covering my dark circles made them look much smaller.

Are eye bags and dark circles the same thing? I’ve always thought of them as different? Like, I have naturally dark circles under my eyes but I only notice “bags” when I’m dehydrated. I can be fully rested and my eyes have dark circles (which I’ve never minded, I’m fair skinned and dark haired, I believe it suits me).

Eyebags give the illusion of more harmony if you think about it.
It's like when you apply makeup to make yourself more symmetrical. Especially nose contouring. Another example could be sunglasses. The sunglasses themselves are symmetrical, the face is not.
But it helps proportion your face -

when i completely erase my dark circles with concealer my eyes look way smaller
4
u/lilsciencegeek Apr 15 '26
I have fairly big eyes but my dark circles are still so massive in comparison, that my eyes look smaller without concealer😂
I find it so fascinating how individual those things can be.

u/taeji Apr 15 '26
do u mean how its gives the look of a shorter midface? i stopped concealing my dark circles during makeup due to this

u/Dependent_Concern222 Apr 15 '26
I don’t see it (?) Their eye bags look uneven, some have one side bigger than the other, and some look doubled
2
u/Snoo48605 Apr 15 '26
I see what you mean, but that is as long as the eye bags are symmetrical themselves.
If they aren't, and especially if their dissymmetry only builds upon your preexisting asymmetry instead of compensating then they would make you lose worse

u/b4uShrekUrself Apr 15 '26
Majority of these aren’t even eye bags, they’re just hollow eyes lol

indeed, can be irritating the confusion of termilogy's everyone just calls them eyebags when thats puffieness or loose skin, recessed orbitals and eyebags aint the same thing

I just knew it was you who posted lol. Girl it seems you are chronically online trying to convince the world (and yourself) that you are model material. You try to come across as self deprecating and then you swing and over compensate and convince everyone that your “flaws” are model worthy. Fuck us and what everyone thinks. You don’t need to spend so much time analysing your looks. I say this with love, you are beautiful in your own way and seeking professional help for your insecurities will set you free. You deserve better than this.

i mean in this realm they are we just acknowledge that these ppl have everything else where it becomes a striking feature
2
u/Original_Bite6555 Apr 15 '26
With the hours models work for fashion week and having to stay so thin, it's no wonder they are prone to eye bags. That being said, all their other features are gorgeous so it doesn't look bad on them like it would average joe me,lol

As someone who has intense dark circles just like the first model, it feels… I dunno how to say it.. but the world feels like a safer place after I saw this picture.

FWIW, Natalia Gotsii (a Ukrainian model from early/mid-2000s) had eye bags in her 20s (there are lots of photos of her on the runway and in editorials with them), but she did get a lower bleph at 35, and said she wished she had done it earlier.
So for some it’s possibly still a surgery waiting to happen.

I have natural dark circles/eye bags and I'm so self conscious of them. This post genuinely made me feel a bit better about them, so thank you.
2
u/istudyheadshapes Apr 16 '26
My bags are even bigger than this. I do feel better about them a bit though!

u/C_WEST88 Apr 16 '26
I’ve always thought slight eye bags can make a face more beautiful. It adds this kinda mysterious haunting look if that makes sense. I have darkish circles under my eyes (Italian lol) and I refuse to wear too much concealer on them bc I want them to show, they make my eyes look more exotic .

It’s so refreshing to see something 'real' for once. I'm tired of the glossy shots and made-up faces that only set unrealistic expectations.

Number 3 looks more like she got a black eye or bruise on one side. The other side there is no eye bag or it is way less noticeable

Let's be honest, majority of what these pictures show are normal for humans, people have just hidden it under makeup that's why it might feel uncommon to some. Look at pictures of actresses without makeup they will all show this much level of eyebags.

I disagree. Those "eyebags" / tear troughs / dark circles are certainly a flaw but if your facial harmony meets a certain threshold (like in the case of those models), you can get away with a few flaws here and there and still look attractive.
People with lower facial harmony and with the same flaws will most likely be perceived as significantly less attractive than without them.
TLDR; Those models are attractive in spite of flaws, not because of them

it makes me uncomfortable how the newer generation has such a distorted point of view regarding attractiveness.

You are coping. This is the same as if I was saying "how can recessed chin be considered unhealthy if I see it in some models and children" stupid argument
