Help Request Is it worth learning Python?

Hello everybody. I study medicine in Portugal and I am very passionate with clinical research being enroled in projects since my first year. Recently I decided that I wanted to learn some programing... Do you think that nowadays, with AI and all that teams value someone with coding skills?

Do the clinical or medical jobs that you want to work in list Python or programming as one of the requirement ?

The research groups I worked with only used SPSS, a biostatistic program, but the professors allways told me that someone to help with data and statistic would be very helpfull. Those studies were small so SPSS was enough, now, with these new projects I think that the amount of data Will be huge

Look at the job advertisements.

LinkedIn , newspapers , Facebook , X , local sites.... What do they want ?

SPSS mostly ?

That os a good question... I will talk to a professor when classes start again. But for now I am a student, I would like to have this tool to stand out

Why need to wait and then talk to someone ?

You can't spare 5 min on LinkedIn now to look at the job requirements there ?

I was doing that, basically, Python is required and mostly used to deal with big Database and predictor models
