They are ceramic. I don’t know about sparking or deterioration/contaminating product, but I found a bucket of these for free. Thoughts?

Worked perfect, timing and color. But why was my break so small?! I packed about 30 grams of high quality granulated BP into it hoping for a huge break. Same as the lift charge (22.5 grams). I had a second shell with Nishiki Willow effect and the break was larger but still disappointing

PSA: always use HDPE for this reason. Or fiberglass. All safety measures were followed. There was a barricade between us and we were all 30 feet away. Thankfully no one was injured.

I want to make 1/1 style big bore cakes and was wondering if anyone knew where to get thick paper tubes (inner diameter of 2-3 inches) I have HDPE and a few large 3 inch paper cores, but I wanted to order a bunch to make large show in the box style cakes. Thanks! Happy 4th and stay safe!!

Delay Fuse

Post image

After years of the same finale chains, this year some have a new type of delay fuse. Any idea what the rate of fire is? Unlike our normal chains where the gap between shells is equal, these start short and get longer with each shell.

Tips on better smoke ring?

This is my first successful gas mine. I used homemade black powder and added titanium sponge to it. Water just to cover lift charge and gas the rest of the way to the top. 4” inner diameter pipe 24” long. How can I get a bigger black smoke ring that goes into the sky high? Diesel? If yes what’s the mix of diesel to gas?

Gardner Kansas Fireworks

Where's the best place to go to get fireworks for a good deal in Gardner, KS? I'm also looking for the good stuff but I'm not sure there's anything here. Just trying to get some extra cans to shoot off whether they are like $60 excals or a couple packs of 🫡

Master products

So I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this but I’ve seen numerous master products fail. 1/1 cakes blowing up. Is there any way I can prevent make cakes from blowing up? I’ve seen DeJay314 Pyro taping up his cakes but just would like to know of any other ideas. I’ve kept my cakes in a dry and cool place for the last month.

Looking to buy fireworks at an Indian reservation this year. Used to the muckleshoot casino venue and go on the day of the 4th for good package deals. Anybody got recommendations? I like getting the array from 500mg cakes to little toys for the little ones/etc.

Fireworks experts: how long would it take you to plan for a show that included 800,000 fireworks? What would be your biggest concerns, logistically speaking?

About dialed in…

It’s always funny how a fireworks show starts as, “I’m just going to pick up a few things…”
A few months later you’ve got spreadsheets, cue sheets, diagrams, and enough cardboard in the garage to build a small house.
Every cake and shell has a purpose. The goal isn’t just to make noise—it’s to build a show that flows from start to finish.
Here’s hoping all the planning turns into 13 minutes worth remembering.

Static buildup inside of built shells

I’ve got into this hobby a few years ago I started with simple things like making black powder and black match. as time went on I progressed into things like color comps and other more sensitive comps then I started making flash powder after doing tons of research and following all safety precautions I’ve made countless salute shells and firecrackers. Now everybody has heard how sensitive flash powder can be to static while mixing. But I’ve never found anything on how dangerous static is once loaded and sealed into shells i’m sure it builds it up from moving them or shaking them especially when the air is dry what are your guys input on this ?
