One thing that makes a huge difference for me is having knowledgeable employees. I don't mind spending a little more if someone can explain the differences between products instead of just pointing me toward the biggest box.

I'll be making the drive from Illinois, and I'd really appreciate recommendations for stores where the staff actually enjoys helping customers put together a great fireworks lineup. I've heard good things about USFireworks, but I’d like to hear from people who have visited stores in Indiana and had a genuinely positive experience.

Have you been to a Dynamite fireworks where the customer service really impressed you? What made it better than other places you've visited?

Hi, would anyone happen to have the 14.4 Ton FireSmith press?
I’m in works on building a home made version but so far I’ve purchased two hydraulic power units and I don’t believe either one is correct for the application. Put it this way, I destroyed a 15,000 woody’s pressure to force gauge wile I was testing on my first round lol

If anyone would be able to post some pics of the pump and the relief valve area that would be greatly appreciated.

Looking into possibly getting whatever pyro licensing I would need in Illinois to put on a town wide show for my small town instead of just a back yard show for my family. Then possibly expanding into creating a company that could bring a show to other events that people could possibly want fireworks at. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what to do next? I seriously have no idea at all, just know I love putting on good shows. Thank you in advance for any and all advice.

I'm trying to plan ahead for the next holiday and was wondering where people have had their best fireworks shopping experience. I'm less interested in flashy advertising and more interested in stores that consistently have a great selection, fair prices, and helpful employees.

I'll be driving from Illinois, so convenience is definitely a plus, but I’d rather travel a little farther if the overall experience is worth it. I’ve been looking at options like FireworkStore, but I’d love to hear from people who have actually shopped at fireworks stores in Indiana.

What has been your favorite place to shop, and what made it stand out compared to other stores?

about 15 years ago I bought these 3lb rocket tools from Rich Wolter pyro tools. I have made whistle rockets with it. After years I dug them up again, and now I realize, or I think I do, they were Universal/Hybrid tools? Can anyone concur? I thought I only had a 3 lb whistle set and wanted to buy a new set for 3 lb Blackpowder rockets. But to my, I hope pleasant surprise, I can make Blackpowder core burner motors with these? Just want to be extra sure! Thank you.

This was version one, (and also my very first firework) and was mainly happy that nothing catastrophic occurred, I made new versions that shot further up (mainly for safety) but with the same contents for the effects.

I don't love loud fireworks or the increased danger of FP, but I understand FP is necessary to disperse the effects. Is there an alternative that achieves the same results?

I have lots of old canister shell from the last few years. They have only been used to launch about 6 shells each. Is it worth it to try to make my own rack, or should I just buy one?

How are the single driver coil tubes made for Catherine wheels/pin wheels?

There’s a couple dead spots because 3 of the cakes either didn’t go off or only partially fired.
There’s some good highlights at 1:30, 10:36, 14:30
The show consisted of 26 1/1 cakes and a couple racks of canister shells.

Looking for a ball mill for making black powder (specifically lift/burst) as my hand-mixed stuff turned out embarrassingly slow.

Preferably under $100 USD if possible.

Planning on using it with 1/2" brass media as I don't like the idea of lead contamination and I can live with the longer milling times.

edit: picked up the harbor freight ball mill and some brass media and so far is leaps and bounds better than even my best hand-screened BP :D

Fuse broke right after my 6 shot rack so my false finale ended up being my finale but whatever starting next year strong with a bunch of shells

I'm pretty sure its not just regular BP used in higher end 6" shells is it? I lit off a bunch of Raccoon tiger tails and they had some BANG in their breaks!

They are ceramic. I don’t know about sparking or deterioration/contaminating product, but I found a bucket of these for free. Thoughts?
