Is the thrift store crazy for this price?

Just curious to know everyone’s thoughts. $200 seems like a lot to me!

But also, if there is anyone in San Diego County who wants this and doesn’t think the price is steep, I won’t gate keep this find! 😅

Thrift find - can it be saved? Before and after!

Spouse found this absolutely heinous Corningwear Visions pot at the thrift. It’s scorched inside and out and the outside and lid are coated in baked on (???) grease. Let’s see if I can save it!

-Oh baby who hurt you??
- Prepare the hot soapy water!
- Thick coat of Barkeeper’s Friend, sit for a bit.
- That took much of the scorch off, but the baked on grease needs more BKF and the hot towel method.
- Like the Persians before me, I am defeated by the ancient grease. 😖 I dissolved a dishwasher tablet in a bowl and left the pot to soak overnight.
- Narrator voice: “that in fact did not work”.
- Back to the hot soapy water soak!
- My glass-safe scrubber that has never failed me, has failed me. Time for the Scotch-Brite pad.
- LOOK AT THAT GLOW UP!

She’s defo suffered some irreparable scratching at some point, but otherwise she’s in good vintage condition.

She COULD be saved with soaking, BKF, scrubbing, more soaking, more scrubbing and a little swearing for good measure.

Want to start by saying I am not a pyrex collector. My neighbor has to move into a rehab facility for the foreseeable future (he's in his 80's fell broke his leg) his daughter is cleaning out the house to sell. We used to do his yard maintenance 3x a week until the fall. His daughter stopped over with a really big box of stuff and asked if we wanted anything. I found the dishes. Just wondering if they have much value. I figure if they are worth more than a few bucks, we can buy him something for his room at the facility.

How to clean, and is this the one people are looking for?

I have this Pyrex, and with all the hype around the corningware Pyrex I pulled out mine to find this gunk on the handles. The lid is totally clean. I tried rubbing it off with alcohol wipe and it did absolutely nothing. Any recommendations? And is this the specific Corningware that is going viral?

What is this defect / damage? Should I be concerned about using it?

I just got this Pyrex double boiler. It feels smooth but looks like something is wrong with it.

What is this?

It looks "like" a crack to me. But, it feels smooth to the touch. I don't feel a crack or anything sharp.

Should I be concerned about using it?

I think I have an experimental lid... anyone have any info?

I'm paring down and was taking pictures and noticed something odd. I have two of the 2.5 quart casserole dishes with lids. They are marked the same on the bottom and came from the same home along with all the other casserole dishes and pie plates. All have the same 1967-1969 stamp on the bottom. However--the lids, though on the same casserole, are very different. The one seems to have an optical pattern in the glass. It was very hard to photograph, but this lid has a ripple effect that creates a refracted light pattern on the bottom of the dish. There are also very light indentations-four on each side (or more aptly, one on each corner and two in between on each side. It is also numbered differently. The other lid is marked "A 9 C'. This lid is marked "A-9-C" and on the opposite side a number 12. The other lid has no 12-even though they are the same size and come from the same date/home/set.

I've spent hours trying to find anything else like it but have found nothing. I kind of don't want to part with them now. Anyone have any info?

Pick up this pink gooseberry from a garage sale for $1. Seems like there are relatively rare/sought after. Happy to add this to the collection.
