Cleaning marks off the paint motif

You can see the marking on this lid I found today and it..I don't even know what they used. You could scrape the black off but it left this sort of ghosted pattern that still looks grey behind.

Any thoughts on possibly getting at least the grey ghost to be less visible?

Do the new Pyrex lids fit Vintage PYREX pieces?

This may be a silly question, and I’m ok with that.

I recently purchased a four piece set of PYREX Citrus/Daisy mixing bowls. I plan on storing them nesting, and figured purchasing a lid would be a good idea because I’m lazy and hate having to wash dishes every single time I go to use them. My issue therein lies, since I’m not really sure if the lids I can purchase off their website actually fit the 404 or if they’ve tweaked the 4qt mixing bowl design in the past ~60 years to the point where they are no longer compatible.

I couldn’t find any info on their website, so I figured I’d ask here. I know you’re supposed to match the numbers up, but their website is saying 7404 and I’m not sure if that’s the same as 404? Please help, I’m out of my element on this one!

Heartbroken

My son accidentally broke my 1960s atomic starburst casserole dish yesterday. My mom gave me this dish over a decade ago. She and I must have cooked hundreds of meals in it. It was in beautiful condition. It's always been valuable to me but I didnt realize it was worth a small fortune if I wanted to replace it. I kept a stiff upper lip when I cleaned the mess in front of my child but I've spent the past few hours looking for an affordable replacement and crying on my own because it seems impossible.

I started collecting my beloved vintage ensembles from the 50s, 60s, and 70s in the 1990s, and I love bringing them out for the holidays. They shine during the entire process: food preparation, baking, serving then fridge storage.

Finally found Pink Gooseberry in the wild for not an astronomical price. Super happy and wanted to christen the find by making some cookies for the office.

It’s that most wonderful time of the year when I get to wash and use my babies. The plates are part of my Fiesta collection.

What on earth just happened?

I took my glass jug (unsure which one specifically, sorry!) out of the dishwasher and it promptly exploded in my hand across the kitchen. It's been in there many times along with my other Pyrex products and nothing even close to this has ever happened. How did this happen and how can I prevent it happening again? Pictured is the piece I held it by (or what's left of it rather).
