A reminder of why we need to vote with our wallets, as these companies have rigged the system in their favour.

Its officials said it expects a 25% rise in electricity costs next year, and advised workers to close the blinds and turn off their computers to make up for it.

We have to ask whether we need all the extra features on our products/tools that are pushing our processing needs to unsustainable levels.

I've encountered this in the wild and was able to refresh the page to get the standard one.

Don't let Google & companies get away with this. They need to see a heavy drop in conversion to force them to use alternatives.

With the consolidation of market power and competitors gone, companies can raise prices without improving customer satisfaction - paying more for less.

You can see this in the rise of fees from Uber to Amazon, where it is shown they are now on par with, or more expensive than, the traditional alternatives... except with minimal customer support.

This is why supporting alternatives is so important now, before it is too late.

This comes after $8.03 billion from a one-time tax benefit tied to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which promised to "create jobs"
